Friday, December 9, 2011. Lab 9: The Dog Park! Unfortunately, for the second section of this course, going to the dog park was just not in the stars. I theorize that someone offended Zeus.). We did not get to go as a class because of the incredible monsoon that overcame the city. I have been to the Macon Dog Park before, though, with my friend Apryl and her black lab Maggie. This is a picture of Maggie playing in a creek. If you do your fingers in a shooting motion and say "BAM! The movie we watched, "Da...

Sunday, December 11, 2011. Yo momma is my momma. This little guy is the first Organism to have a Vertebrae according to the Fossil Record. All Modern day animals with a backbone can trace their evolutionary history back to the Amohioxus. Hmmm, looks a lot like tadpole to me. Darwin's Dilemma (Burgess Shale).

ENB 150
Saturday, December 10, 2011. Negative feedback loop is almost another name for the way in which are bodies maintain homeostasis. Examples of this are like our body temperature, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels. The blog about the blood sugar is an example of how negative feedback loops work. When something occurs in the body, like an intake of sugar, it rises, then the body works to bring the levels back down to normal. This picture is an example of a negative feedback loop. Go Environment!
Monday, December 12, 2011. I learned about bioethanol when we went to the lab at the law school. Bioethanol is created out of sugars, and those can be gotten from a number of plants, but mostly just those that have a lot of fibrous bits in them. Dr. Rood told us about his father and the way that he created a system of production that makes both paper and fuel out of banana trees. I am afraid that those trees are grown on plantations with wage slavery populations. That is sad to me if it is true. Amphioxi...

Calvin Williams' ENB 150 Blog
Calvin Williams' ENB 150 Blog. Tuesday, November 22, 2011. This organism was the start of all vertebrates. It was living 250 years ago and only was 5 centimeters long. It had little body structures that resembled a spine. Yet had no limbs or anything as such to make it able to do much. This is pretty wild to me to be the start of vertebrates.
