I want to acknowledge that as many people are under the sun today, there are that many different ways to describe grief and loss, and in particular the loss of a child through miscarriage or other means. I do not assume to be able to relate to what others' grief feels like because it is impossible for me to know. I just know my own.and this is it. They say that in the initial stages of grief, you feel like one large bruise. It's like an amputation.

Wednesday, November 12, 2014. Some occasions (like the ones you might only enjoy once in a lifetime) are extra special. Celebrating 90 years with a grandparent and all your family is one of those sweet times. In November, we drove to Arkansas to have a big 90th birthday party for our Poppy. Marc was able to take a few days off from work which always helps make the 9 hr. drive there and back a little easier. She wins the "happiest baby award" everywhere we go! Happy 90th Birthday Poppy! I bid you stand!

Care packages from the states, new friendships forming, the breath-taking beauty of the Ugandan countryside, surprise gifts from teammates, deepening intimacy with the Lord through sin being continually exposed, my heart moved to repentance, and faith strengthened.
