我同意用「超額設備」(excess capacity)以及孔雀開屏效應來當作蓋教堂的理由.超額設備說的是蓋一座比實際需要還大很多的教堂,來阻擋其他宗教的進入與競爭;孔雀開屏效應則是天主教先搶光對手的可能生存空間,讓自己獨自壯大,然後又以這麼雄偉的教堂(好像是孔雀的漂亮大型尾扇)來炫耀,一方面吸取更多的資源(磁吸效應),二方面又可嚇阻潛在的競爭者與威脅者。 人民越窮就越倚賴宗教,越倚賴宗教就越便於統治.而且把當地的人力物力進行消耗,還可以避免地方勢力的發展,免得遭到推翻. 訂閱: 張貼留言 (Atom). 8Not Just Make Money.

在閱讀《經濟史的結構與變遷》一書中,作者以交易成本的論點,對工業革命產生一系列的推理甚是精彩,既打破讀者對工業革命原先的歷史認知,也使人深思經濟學的研究方法「假設其他條件不變」究竟會使研究越作越明,對當代經濟現象產生更深刻的認識與解釋,抑或將經濟學家帶往純數量的學術理論殿堂,因為推動經濟制度的改變之因素是「其他條件」? 作者認為工業革命不像歷史學家對機器的稱頌與看重,而認為一切生產制度變革的推手是「交易成本」。私人交易的前提是有明確的財產權,而其改善了要素和產品市場。 結果,市場規模的擴大導致了更高的專業化與勞動分工,從而增加了交易成本。組織變動的設計旨在降低這些交易成本,結果不僅降低了創新的成本。同時又因市場規模擴大以及發明的財產權得到更好的界定,從而提高了創新的報酬率。正是這樣一系列的發展舖下了真正的技術革命-第二次經濟革命,也就是科學與技術的結合(P168). 就我的理解,作者的意思是工業革命始於市場規模擴大,其導致專業化分工程度越高,又此現象導致廠商取代市場,之後利於監督員工與增加產能的 工廠出現,. 訂閱: 張貼留言 (Atom). 8Not Just Make Money.
