A Penny of My Thoughts: July 2011
http://soverbeck.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
A Penny of My Thoughts. Sunday, July 31, 2011. I have the privilege of serving on a team that writes the Weekend Reflections for our church's website. It is a privilege that I don't take lightly because I know how important it is to process, and those reflections not only allow me to process what was shared in the message, but hopefully, God uses me to help others process as well. Children - I could never have imagined how they would change me. They have taught me about self-sacrifice and uncondition...

The Dunaway's: September 2012
http://thedunaways.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
The only routine with me is no routine at all. Jackie Kennedy. Tuesday, September 18, 2012. I just want you to know that while you frustrate me when you ask me to walk you to the bus stop in my pj's with the world worst bed head, then decide you "just can't" get your little 5 slim bum on the bus.I love you. Your hand tightly clasped to mine and those pleading eyes for me to take you to school and I crumble. On the way to school you tell me about your friends at school, Brayden and Claire. I watch you gra...

A Penny of My Thoughts: New Beginnings
http://soverbeck.blogspot.com/2012/01/new-beginnings.html
A Penny of My Thoughts. Thursday, January 5, 2012. Proverbs 16:9 says, "In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.". For me there is a peace in that. As I trust God to lead me where He wants me to go - not where I want Him to take me, I can be assured that I will be where He wants me to be. It's kind of a cool thought, isn't it? So my new beginnings this year, aren't really new beginnings at all. It's all about a new perspective. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

A Penny of My Thoughts: In Ministry
http://soverbeck.blogspot.com/2012/02/in-ministry.html
A Penny of My Thoughts. Sunday, February 12, 2012. When asked to list some of the most high stress jobs today, most people would list firemen, police officers, EMTs, surgeons, nurses and those in the military. I doubt many would list those in ministry. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Jesus often retreated to solitary places after times of great ministry. If the Son of God took time to rest, I guess I should expect that we would need that time as well, probably more so in that we are not the Son...I thi...

The only routine with me is no routine at all. Jackie Kennedy. Saturday, April 14, 2012. My sweet Sophia Grace.I cannot believe that you are 9 years old! You have grown in so many ways over the past year. I have a memory of you and I the morning after you were born. I was laying on my side and you were snuggled into me.PERFECTION! Journey Together: February 2012
http://pccjourneytogether.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 21, 2012. If you were fortunate enough to hear the message at church this past Sunday, then your toes may be hurting just as mine are! Spiritual Formation Pastor, Tyler Ward, started by sharing his prayer with us which was that our “toes would feel a little stepped on” as his had been in his message preparation. My toes were stepped on and thank goodness they were! Thursday, February 9, 2012. How Awesome is your God? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). How Awesome is your God? Top 5 This Month.

Journey Together: How Awesome is your God?
http://pccjourneytogether.blogspot.com/2012/02/how-awesome-is-your-god.html
Thursday, February 9, 2012. How Awesome is your God? We live in an age where in many ways God has been diminished. We hear Him referred to as “The man upstairs” or “The big guy” or we use phases like OMG without recognizing how that diminishes and degrades. We lose sight of God’s greatness and His power. Our view of sin becomes small – this makes a mockery of Jesus’ sacrifice for us. We end up choosing to compromise on key matters instead of standing on our convictions. Does this describe you in some way?
