Eric Dunaway: 05/01/2011 - 06/01/2011

Tuesday, May 3, 2011. I Couldn't Agree More. A few days ago I took my vehicle in for some routine maintainance. It was the second time I had taken it to this guy, an idependent mechanic who seems to be a very honest man (a great quality for someone in his line of work). As we were test-driving the car (after the repairs had been made) he dropped this question on me: "How long have you been a pastor? So I asked if he meant his father's faith. I couldn't help but agree with him. I've read a couple of books...

Eric Dunaway: To Whom do I Belong?
http://ericdunaway.blogspot.com/2012/01/to-whom-do-i-belong.html
Thursday, January 12, 2012. To Whom do I Belong? For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. Is my life my own? That's something that turns again and again at the core of each person. And my natural inclination is to say, "Yes!

Eric Dunaway: Perspective
http://ericdunaway.blogspot.com/2012/02/perspective.html
Saturday, February 4, 2012. I drove by a house on my way to a hardware store a while back, and noticed that the house had a "FOR SALE" sign in the front yard. As I returned from the hardware store a few hours later, however, I noticed that the same sign in front of the same house now said, "SOLD." I thought to myself, "Wow! I didn't think much else of it. Then it hit me.the house was both for sale and. Listen, buddy.I can read, and I'm telling you, the sign says SOLD! You calling me an idiot, moron?

Eric Dunaway: The Downside
http://ericdunaway.blogspot.com/2011/10/downside.html
Thursday, October 13, 2011. The only problem was that in order to sync my computers, I had to upgrade the OS to Lion. Not a costly upgrade, but time consuming. Then I had to download the software for my phone and tablet.not a big deal under normal circumstances. But when several MILLION people are doing it at the Same time, it gets pretty slow.and, again, time consuming. But I have to say that it didnt do much for my productivity yesterday. Today will be different. Sent from my iPad. What I do with it all.

Eric Dunaway: 03/01/2011 - 04/01/2011
http://ericdunaway.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 30, 2011. Over three years ago I got my first smart phone. A first-gen Apple iPhone. Two years later I switched to an Android phone on Verizon. For three years, I've carried one of these handy little devices that have allowed me to take mobile communications to a whole new level. Internet and email would magically download to my pocket, no matter where I was. Calendars and contacts sync with multiple. Computers. Even my tasks. Has been deactivated. And I'm okay with that. I glanced back ...

A Penny of My Thoughts: July 2011
http://soverbeck.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
A Penny of My Thoughts. Sunday, July 31, 2011. I have the privilege of serving on a team that writes the Weekend Reflections for our church's website. It is a privilege that I don't take lightly because I know how important it is to process, and those reflections not only allow me to process what was shared in the message, but hopefully, God uses me to help others process as well. Children - I could never have imagined how they would change me. They have taught me about self-sacrifice and uncondition...

A Penny of My Thoughts: New Beginnings
http://soverbeck.blogspot.com/2012/01/new-beginnings.html
A Penny of My Thoughts. Thursday, January 5, 2012. Proverbs 16:9 says, "In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.". For me there is a peace in that. As I trust God to lead me where He wants me to go - not where I want Him to take me, I can be assured that I will be where He wants me to be. It's kind of a cool thought, isn't it? So my new beginnings this year, aren't really new beginnings at all. It's all about a new perspective. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

A Penny of My Thoughts: In Ministry
http://soverbeck.blogspot.com/2012/02/in-ministry.html
A Penny of My Thoughts. Sunday, February 12, 2012. When asked to list some of the most high stress jobs today, most people would list firemen, police officers, EMTs, surgeons, nurses and those in the military. I doubt many would list those in ministry. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Jesus often retreated to solitary places after times of great ministry. If the Son of God took time to rest, I guess I should expect that we would need that time as well, probably more so in that we are not the Son...I thi...
