Snickering

Friday, July 11, 2008. As a former student of the simply yet ostentatiously named Hamlet: the Seminar at Cornell, I’ve seen most of the cinematic versions (with Mel Gibson, Ethan Hawke and Kenneth Branaugh to John Barrymore and Laurence Olivier in the eponymous role) and many stages versions, ranging traditional collegiate retellings and a Japanese cast in provincial England. Needless to say, I have my opinions on the play. All in all, I was so glad to be there and it had terrific aspects (not least of w...

Snickering: Book Review - Anagrams

http://erikajobrown.blogspot.com/2008/04/book-review-anagrams.html

Friday, April 25, 2008. Book Review - Anagrams. This book was devastating devastatingly funny, devastatingly honest. And its denouement, or the final unraveling of plot complexities, is devastatingly sad. It’s a relatably self-conscious, and hilarious, despair. Posted by Erika Jo Brown @ 9:48 AM. http://erikajobrown.blogspot.com/2008/06/steam-intelligent-women-behaving.html

Monday, June 09, 2008. Steam: Intelligent Women Behaving Stupidly. Why is Maureen Dowd such a flagrant bitch about Hilary Clinton? Her smarminess, unwillingness to forgive and lazy criticism makes her exactly like the targets she ridicules. Get smarter. Posted by Erika Jo Brown @ 10:46 AM. Iowa City / New York. Snickering: May 2008

http://erikajobrown.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html

Tuesday, May 13, 2008. Rant against Staples . I have somewhere to go, not because I'm an o-so-speedy-New-Yorker but because I have laundry and packing and a life outside the office. Don't blame me for knowing where the subways are! Move the fuck over to the side of the sidewalk. When I'm in conservative areas of China, I dress modestly. WHEN IN NEW YORK, MOVE RAPIDLY. Especially away from the entrance of Staples. I will eat you. I am plumping my ass for my Great Omaha Stand. Thursday, May 08, 2008.

Monday, January 29, 2007. Things that make me mad. In no particular order:. I fell on the ice twice on my way to work today and then it was too windy to go outside during lunch. South of Where?: Goa

http://southofwhere.blogspot.com/2008/01/goa.html

Wednesday, January 09, 2008. Now that my schedule consists roughly of wake up, read the paper, sit on the beach, eat lunch, sit on the beach, splash about in the warm and calm Arabian Sea, shower, eat dinner, sleep, it seems like I have no excuse for neglecting this space. I think that's about as much writing as my chilled out mind has to offer right now. Off to read the news from New Hampshire. I am very sorry about your Nana. Much love from the Midwest. The US is in 7 trillion dollars worth of debt and 1 trillion seconds ago was 3000 BC. Just to put it in some perspective. Ultimate frisbee is fun, but will probably be more fun once I'm not scared to get near the actual frisbee. Our government needs to be dramatically overhauled to better fit our society, and that overhaul is a real possibility. Last Day of Work.

South of Where?: The Mother

http://southofwhere.blogspot.com/2008/01/mother.html

Friday, January 18, 2008. Jane and I are currently staying at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram's guest house. Who is Sri Aurobindo? Oh yes, and dirty. Today I had one of those moments where I felt like screaming "LET'S JUST CLEAN THIS BLOODY PLACE UP! Why, on the coastline, in coconut tree groves, and throughout every city are there piles of filth? Why does every gutter or crevice seem to be filled with repugnant, stagnant, stanky water? China certainly felt more polluted, but India has got dirty cornered.

Sunday, November 25, 2007. We are here. after many many hours of sitting on a non-moving train around the china/mongolian border, lots of driving through moonscape, too many nasty toilets/holes to talk about and an introduction to new alphabets, we have made it into another country. so far we've holed up with foreigners and protected ourselves against the cold. FRUGAN DAHLIN

Torsdag 14 augusti 2014. Onsdag 6 augusti 2014. Något jag aldrig trodde skulle drabba mig. Etiketter: Jag rör mig.
