South of Where?: The Mother

http://southofwhere.blogspot.com/2008/01/mother.html

Friday, January 18, 2008. Jane and I are currently staying at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram's guest house. Who is Sri Aurobindo? Oh yes, and dirty. Today I had one of those moments where I felt like screaming "LET'S JUST CLEAN THIS BLOODY PLACE UP! Why, on the coastline, in coconut tree groves, and throughout every city are there piles of filth? Why does every gutter or crevice seem to be filled with repugnant, stagnant, stanky water? China certainly felt more polluted, but India has got dirty cornered.

South of Where?: November 2007

http://southofwhere.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 25, 2007. We are here. after many many hours of sitting on a non-moving train around the china/mongolian border, lots of driving through moonscape, too many nasty toilets/holes to talk about and an introduction to new alphabets, we have made it into another country. so far we've holed up with foreigners and protected ourselves against the cold. Getting kicked off the computer now.ttyl. Thursday, November 22, 2007. Wednesday, November 14, 2007. I climbed the great wall!

South of Where?: Goa

http://southofwhere.blogspot.com/2008/01/goa.html

Wednesday, January 09, 2008. Now that my schedule consists roughly of wake up, read the paper, sit on the beach, eat lunch, sit on the beach, splash about in the warm and calm Arabian Sea, shower, eat dinner, sleep, it seems like I have no excuse for neglecting this space. I think that's about as much writing as my chilled out mind has to offer right now. Off to read the news from New Hampshire. I am very sorry about your Nana. Much love from the Midwest. Were you at the palmologist at the jodhpur fort?

Life and other such nonsense: March 2010

http://jenniferlynn75.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 15, 2010. My new hobby/habit: paper beads; my view in Jan; my flowers in Dec. Saturday, March 13, 2010. Life in February, 2010. No, I’m not. It’s ridiculous to me to be in a situation where you constantly punish yourself; I’m not in to S&M. Am I really going to conduct an anthropological study around my response/reaction to marriage proposals or my decreased self-esteem due to fat comments? February 23, 2010- A Letter to Jacy: Just read your letter while sitting at an outdoor café. I ha...

Life and other such nonsense: April 2010

http://jenniferlynn75.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Tuesday, April 27, 2010. March and April 2010. Beginning of March- Beware the Ides of March: Why ‘Beware the Ides of March’? I recall the line from Shakespeare’s play Caesar, where Caesar is warned about things to come. But worry only creates stress, usually if it’s unnecessary worry. Sometimes as volunteers, we get caught up in worries regarding our worth or effectiveness, especially as service draws to an end. We wonder, have we done enough? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Sunday, January 24, 2010. Life in Dec 09 and Jan 2010. Below are the messages I painted:. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Eleanor Roosevelt. Education is the most powerful weapon, which you can use to change the world. Nelson Mandela. The global HIV/AIDS epidemic is an unprecedented crisis that requires an unprecedented response…it requires solidarity… Kofi Annan. 8230;never let anyone tell you that what you are doing is insignificant. It happened last month. When I returned from the COS conference there was a change on my homestead. A water tap! What does that mean? 10 May 2010- My adoring fan says: A young guy was trying to get my attention today. Here’s what he said: Hey Obama! Pause) Hey Miss… Miss America! No Well, I love you anyway. Then a sentimental comedy-. This makes me want a cigarette. I smoke it as a storm rolls in;. Thunder, lightning, and rain. I light incense to cover the smell of smoke. Sunday, September 5, 2010. July and August 2010. Once the driver arrived, Make and her granddaughter helped me carry things to the truck as the driver loaded. It was full, as I had many things for my project I needed to transplant to Pasture Valley and two-100 liter water barrels I was returning to Peace Corps. I ended up holding one plant on my lap and put one between my feet. The day, unfortunately, came and went with the rapidity of a load of laundry; but with Jenn’s company, and my bedroom inta...

Sunday, January 30, 2011. November and December 2010. Yet, with the rain comes the greening of the land, and my seven shades of green gradually appear, one after the other, until complete transformation of the landscape in December. And I’m filled with a sense of joy and contentment and lightness one only feels when they are entirely calmed, utterly peaceful, and quite satisfied. 19 December 2010- My Birthday:. South Of Watford

Sunday, August 31, 2014. Suddenly, Spain's government has decided that its priority for the coming months is what it describes as ' democratic regeneration. Is merely the cynical touch the PP seems to feel is needed to decorate all of their measures. If that's still not cynical enough for you they also claim the change will help to avoid corruption. They were much more comfortable with the ritual ' y tú má. S' sessions that the increasingly rare parliamentary debates in Spain consist of. Before we could ...
