Old vs. new. always so interesting. There are eleven foreign teachers here at the mine. They're all really cool, and we have fun traveling together. My new home in Colombia.

Wednesday, June 21, 2006. Series of Unfortunate Events. As mentioned, my sister and her husband came to visit for a week. It was awesome! We met in Taipei and spent a few days seeing the sights before moving onto Taroko Gorge near Hualien on the east side of Taiwan. It was one of the most naturally beautiful places I've been in my entire life. I LOVED it! It itched like crazy! Well, it still itches a bit, but it's definitely on the mend. Tomorrow is my last day of school, and I leave Taiwan the day after...

Thursday, May 11, 2006. Man vs. Beast. A few nights ago, as I was innocently getting ready for bed, I looked up and saw a HUGE spider. Following my strict no-gross-things-allowed-in-my-apartment policy, I did the only thing anyone else in my situation would do: I called someone else. He came wielding bug spray and a bucket.
