Egypt Ramblings: The Expecting Expat Mom's Buying Guide: For Baby
http://erinsjourney.blogspot.com/2010/11/expecting-expat-moms-buying-guide-for_15.html
Just a Kentucky gal rambling about life abroad in Egypt. Monday, November 15, 2010. The Expecting Expat Mom's Buying Guide: For Baby. I never realized how many things a baby needed until I got pregnant. When it came time to shop in Egypt for our little one on the way, I soon realized that I basically knew nothing about what our baby needed. Yeah, not so much. So it wasn't just the living in Egypt that made buying for baby a challenge. I would haved face this problem anywhere. And so would you. If you do ...
Egypt Ramblings: Finding Baby Items in Egypt
http://erinsjourney.blogspot.com/2010/11/finding-baby-items-in-egypt.html
Just a Kentucky gal rambling about life abroad in Egypt. Monday, November 29, 2010. Finding Baby Items in Egypt. Last week I mentioned that my son just turned 1 year old recently. And while having a baby in Egypt has been one of the greatest blessings for me here, I have often found it a challenge to find the things I need for him here. Yes, I know I've been home to Kentucky twice in the past year so what am I complaining about? That and they won't fit in a suitcase. (I know, I tried). I use these to wip...

http://erinsjourney.blogspot.com/2010/09/international-travel-ala-baby-14-things.html
Just a Kentucky gal rambling about life abroad in Egypt. Monday, September 20, 2010. 14 Tips for How to Fly International with Baby. Repeat after me.flying with a baby is not easy. flying with a baby is not easy. flying with a baby is not easy. The rest was all downhill from there. Sometimes I think it would be great if I could hear what my son has to say about flying 4,000 miles to go see Granma and Gramps and then flying 4,000 miles to go back home to Egypt. And not once but twice in one year! Out ther...
Egypt Ramblings: Egypt School of Driving: Traffic Lanes
http://erinsjourney.blogspot.com/2011/01/egypt-school-of-driving-traffic-lanes.html
Just a Kentucky gal rambling about life abroad in Egypt. Thursday, January 27, 2011. Egypt School of Driving: Traffic Lanes. Did you ever wonder who decided why lines should be put on the roads? Why are only 3 lanes put on the road when actually 4 lanes of traffic will fit on the road? I mean, seriously, if no one follows the lines why bother putting them on the road in the first place? In Cairo, lines on the road are more of a suggestion than the rule. Okay, so maybe I've taken it a little too far.

Staring at the Wall: July 2009
http://jdurlauf.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2009. I am about one week away from one of the biggest changes in my life. After over twenty seven years, I’m leaving Louisville. It’s true, I lived in St. Louis for about a year in college, but I always knew I was coming back to Louisville. This upcoming move includes no such promise. My heart is coming through my throat. As the future’s staring at me and present becomes the past. So many years this has been my home. But it couldn’t last forever and now it’s time to go away. But I will...

Thursday, November 17, 2011. The Road to Recovery. WARNING - this post contains graphic images of my ankle after surgery. Now I find myself in recovery mode. I'm not used to being confined to crutches or fatigue, but things could have been much worse. I have found myself thanking God for the health I do have. It has also forced me to rest, which is something I have never been good at. These photos were taken the day before I had surgery. You can see where I was bitten and how much swelling it caused&...

Staring at the Wall: October 2010
http://jdurlauf.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 19, 2010. There has been much going on lately, and as a result I have been doing some writing to help me process everything. Here's one I wrote the other night. Perhaps it is something you can relate to.It was written in light of the biblical passage 2 Corinthians 12:8-10. For all my knowledge I don't know where I will sleep tonight. For all my learning I don't know if I handled this right. For all my education I don't know when I'll see the end of this plight. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Wednesday, January 25, 2012. Thoughts written down while spending my birthday in the hospital. I am blessed, really blessed. It would be easy to look at the past year and only see the bizarre events of the last couple of months, but that would be shortsighted. There has been much more to my 31st year of life than a spider bite. It has been a year of reevaluating. It has been a year in which I've seen several friends and family members battle cancer. That has challenged me to reevaluate my definitions...

Monday, February 07, 2011. 30 for 30: #1 - Jesus. I knew of Jesus from stories I heard about him growing up, but I didn’t really know him until I was a freshman in college. My life has never been the same since I met Jesus personally. In fact, I can’t think of anything that has had such a profound impact on my life as knowing Jesus (as opposed to knowing of Jesus). Staring at the Wall: December 2009
http://jdurlauf.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 30, 2009. I moved to Bowling Green in May, but I had only moved mentally. The physical move in August was much much different. Needless to say, it has been a much tougher transition than I imagined back in May. However, I have slowly come to realize that most of that has been my fault. My thinking going into the move was backwards. The picture below is my favorite from the past few months. It is a picture of some friends and I after they helped decorate my Christmas tree. It i...

Egypt Ramblings
Just a Kentucky gal rambling about life abroad in Egypt. Monday, April 25, 2011. Adjusting to Life after Unexpected Repatriation. I have been happy living overseas all these years. So having to move back indefinitely to my home country unexpectedly (aka "repatriation") has been a bit of a shock, to say the least. Someone told me that the emotional side affects of moving can be more difficult to deal with than the physical moving. I think they might be right. It's not all bad. My son has adjusted well to ...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. I have gotten a bit off track. I have so much going on at work that is affecting so many people’s lives that I am struggling to even stay focused on what needs to be done for the day! I have resolved to eat as healthy as I can and when healthier choices are not available I am choosing to eat less. So far I am doing OK, I am up a pound from the three I lost but I am OK with that. Erin's Adventures in Running...and Life
Wednesday, November 20, 2013. I had big plans for 2013 - marathon PR's, a sub-19 5k, you name it. None of these things happened. And, it left me with feelings of inadequacy and an increasing level of dissatisfaction and apathy towards running. Success breeds desire, after all. But what really defines success? Is the point of all this running to beat your body in to the ground seeking PRs every race and longer and longer distances until the end of time? San Antonio Rock and Rock Marathon. Sadly you missed...
