Tuesday, August 4, 2015. There are so many possibilities for the word of the week on IF, but the first thing to come out of the doodles in my sketchbook was this little character with wild hair. I've just had a haircut, but I usually let it grow so long that it starts to feel a little like this guy's! I also gave him a book to show growth on an internal level, because I think that reading is one of the best ways we can grow to become more empathetic human beings. Monday, May 24, 2010. I've been spending some time over the last few weeks concentrating less on characters and more on environment. This has led to experimenting with color (inspired by the amazing Peter Ferguson. And materials and techniques (taking pointers from one of my favorite pastel artists, Gary Kelley. This is one piece from those explorations. I am liking the intensity of color and strong contrasts I can get with the new pastels I am using. I love this piece! August 29, 2010 at 1:19 PM.

I have a couple of sets that I love, love, love! For the card above I used the new Climbing Orchid. Stamps and Orchid Builder dies. I lifted the design from the catalog because I was anxious to put ink the paper and just wanted to make something. How gorgeous are these flowers? And the Build a Bike die set.
