Every other day paintings. Small oil paintings from a self taught, self doubting artist. Monday, November 30, 2009. Purdy in the Pink. As I post I am defrosting my feet after standing outside supporting my daughter's school play hockey in 3 degree's from freezing. Thankfully I managed to finish this one before hand as I don't think my fingers could hold a brush for the rest of the evening! Unframed painting €70. 99 USD $109 CAD £65GBP. Shipping €10 worldwide. Framed Painting €105. Purdy in the Pink.

Every other day paintings. Small oil paintings from a self taught, self doubting artist. Monday, March 29, 2010. It’s easter break here and the kids are off. The weather is good – for ducks and cold to boot. So it’s a day for pj’s till noon, clearing out cubboards and putting on plays (the kids, not me! I am slacking off a little on the painting too as I’ve set myself a deadline of the end of the month to launch the new website (it’s the 29th! Stacked 7×7 inch oil on gesso bord €195. This summer. Every other day paintings. Small oil paintings from a self taught, self doubting artist. Friday, April 2, 2010. Any way the wind blows. So the new website is done. Ta da! Well, almost, almost done. But that's the nature of websites, there’s always something else you can do. I’ll continue to work on improving it over time but for now everything is there and all the buttons an’ stuff work. So let’s go! Rob named this painting after a JJ Cale song (apparently). 16x16 inch oil on stretched canvas. For more i...

Every other day paintings. Small oil paintings from a self taught, self doubting artist. Wednesday, March 24, 2010. Mr Frawley takes a nap. There's a nap for that! Well I think I've managed to persuade my family to holiday in Lahinch. This summer. I have been campaigning solidly for a few weeks now and the votes are almost in. So Lahinch it is (for me anyway) I am dropping "surf school" casually within hearing of the kids and hoping that will clinch it. 6x6inch oil on gesso bord €195. Room for one more?

http://everyotherdaypaintings.blogspot.com/2010/03/here-boy_20.html
Every other day paintings. Small oil paintings from a self taught, self doubting artist. Saturday, March 20, 2010. So this little guy is a gift for a special little friend of mine who has a birthday coming up. Happy Birthday Niamh! For those of you who know her, don't breath a word just yet. 10x10 inch oil on canvas. Do you sometimes end up hanging a painting twice because the first time it didn't look right, or the nial was showing, or it was too high etc. In two minutes, courtesy of emptyeasel.com.

daily colors: February 2010
http://meru-dailycolors.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 25, 2010. Well this week we graduated to color pencils at the school. After drawing stick figures to find the human form we learnt about the Warli art form. We ended the class yesterday with a color pencil torso composition, playing with colored paper for background. A simple drawing with colored background seems more dramatic to me vs a more colorful one on white paper . Cropping seems to do some good to the composition. Do painters crop their paintings like photos. Hmmm. He steps out...

daily colors: Zeus
http://meru-dailycolors.blogspot.com/2010/02/zeus.html
Monday, February 1, 2010. Every morning, I would see an eagle and it would say "draw me" and after a few days I did and I stopped seeing the eagle. Well what mind chooses to see is mysterious. Here is my charcoal and crayon sketch of what I saw. Eagles are central to many religious and spiritual cultures. From Garuda to symbolizing Zeus. They represent Daring, far sightedness, soul/spirit. Id like to see this in colors. February 4, 2010 at 9:17 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
daily colors: Mary's Gold
http://meru-dailycolors.blogspot.com/2010/02/marys-gold.html
Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Marigolds are associated with Virgin Mary and if one couldnt afford gold one would offer these flowers to her. They are found everywhere in India and are used for decorations arounds houses as they deter some common insects. The Marigold flowers are so simple yet have so much character to paint. This is part of the yellow series for Amit and my first painting of Marigolds. The ochre/yellow background continues to be inspired by Van Gogh. Original artwork 4.5x6.

Every Other Four - The Book
The Journal of Cpl. Matthew Wojtecki. Every Other Four is a Real Life Day-to-Day Memoir of a Marine in Iraq in 2005. Cpl Matthew Wojtecki first started writing Every Other Four down in journals the day after his unit, Weapons Company 3/25 was activated to go to Iraq. As the reader follows the day-by-day journal from the 23 year old's life as a college student to training and then to war, it is obvious that. The book takes us through day-to-day operations from routine police work along the local roads in ...
