Holli's ramblings: Moments like this
http://hollisramblings.blogspot.com/2011/09/moments-like-this.html
Thursday, September 22, 2011. Soft, now my knees like marshmallows, the sidewalk so hard below me, I know I will drop, crashing like the 23 story building looming behind me. I sway in the earthquake of emotion. Strong, the bond as he holds me, his mom, towering over my weakness. Child becomes parent, small becomes big, life shifts irrevocably. I give in to the abyss of sadness that bubbles up. I’m really losing my baby. No one can possibly understand. No mother has felt this crushing pride of loss. Spinn...

http://hollisramblings.blogspot.com/2011/05/liar-our-witch-and-my-wardrobe.html
Tuesday, May 10, 2011. The Liar, Our Witch and my Wardrobe. Sometimes I am just completely blind sided by Ghana. There are moments when I am busy minding my own business, living my little expat life within the confines of this African republic, and culturally I trip over something that just has me reeling. 8220;Madam” came the low voice from the pool of darkness beyond my kitchen window. 8221; (assuming it was our gardener, (term used very loosely) who lives at the back of the house). I begrudgingly put ...
