Red, White, and Bleu - Expat Edna
http://expatedna.com/2015/07/26/red-white-and-bleu
Travel food photography serial expat blog. Red, White, and Bleu. July 26, 2015. There’s something about living abroad that makes for the best 4th of July celebrations. Even though I’m not the most patriotic American, and have no plans on returning to the States, there’s one day a year I still celebrate the country of my birth, and all the opportunities I’ve been afforded because of it. Plus, another benefit of celebrating abroad? You get to incorporate the best of your home and adopted cultures. This yea...

Travel food photography serial expat blog. Five years on: How I moved abroad after college and built a career through travel. May 19, 2015. This week marks the five-year anniversary of my college graduation. Well I. feel. old. When I graduated from the Class of 2010, I was 20 years old, had $700 to my name — and zero clue what to do next. This is the story of how in the five years since, I’ve lived in four countries, traveled to 24 (including 20 in one year. Backing up: Why am I writing this? You should ...

http://expatedna.com/2015/05/21/i-quit-my-job-to-travel-the-world
Travel food photography serial expat blog. And then I quit my job to travel. May 21, 2015. After being abroad for the past seven years, I have some surprisingly big news. You may have figured it out from the title of this post already, BUT LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT IT, OKAY? It’s so big, I actually emailed my parents about it a few weeks ago. I love my family but we’re not close — they find out most things via this blog. They usually know about as much as you guys do. That’s how important this is. But it tur...
6 Airbnbs I loved from around the world - Expat Edna
http://expatedna.com/2015/06/25/home-on-the-road-6-airbnb-apartments-love-from-around-world
Travel food photography serial expat blog. 6 Airbnbs I loved from around the world. June 25, 2015. A quick note: this is not in any way affiliated with Airbnb. They have no idea who I am. I’m writing this post because I’ve stayed in some pretty cool places over the years and wanted to share the best of my experiences. (Unrelatedly, what is the state of travel blogging these days that I have to include a disclaimer like this? In 2011 and have since used it across four continents. Accommodation aside, ...

Seeking Claire-ity: Drop me a line
http://seekingclaire-ity.blogspot.com/p/send-me-lettercare-package.html
One girl. Two years. My Life in Rwanda. Drop me a line. Drop me a line. I love receiving mail! Some advice on mailing:. Be very general on the description of what you're sending (i.e. "gifts"). Never list the value of the contents as more than $10 or $15. USPS flat rate boxes are the best value, generally. Write "Air Mail" on the outside of letters and packages. Put all liquids/gels in ziploc bags. Remove ALL possible packaging to save on weight/room. Use lots of tape on the outside of packages. I had no...

May | 2015 | Arrivals and Departures
https://cantalouqe.wordpress.com/2015/05
Monthly Archives: May 2015. Weird stereotypes I heard yesterday. Yesterday at dinner, one of my friends said that we shouldn’t get Chilean wine because it is dirtier than other wines. She seemed to think that Chileans don’t properly age the wine, in order to make more money, which makes … Continue reading →. How does it not matter? Newer posts →. I Thought They Were Exaggerating. As I mentioned in my last entry, one thing I learned while I was in America was how systemic and unnoticed-by-most the racism actually was. To be honest, when I’d been reading all of the articles about it from abroad, I thought it was over-hype. Yes, it’s terrible that racist tragedies are happening, but surely they’re just a series of bad luck. Surely it’s not still. Pervasive that we have to constantly talk about it…. As an example, my flight from Cancun...
Back in the sandpit | Arrivals and Departures
https://cantalouqe.wordpress.com/2015/08/16/back-in-the-sandpite-of
Last stop, Colorado. Back in the sandpit. I’ve been back in Abu Dhabi for a few days now. On my way home, I was surprised to find one of my best Abu Dhabi friends on my second flight, the one back to our home. We didn’t get to sit together, but we did commiserate about how miserable the 14 hours flight was afterwards, as my boyfriend drove us to our respective apartments. Cooked food instead of ordering in for the hundredth time the other day. One of these days we might actually do it! Last stop, Colorado.

English posts – Algo bonito*
https://algobonito.wordpress.com/english-posts
Before my trip I never wrote in english, it was for me like a waste of time. Now that I’m back home I miss the language so much that I need a place to practice, even though I know I’ll make mistakes (sorry for that! Because this is not my mother tongue. I really don’t like the language mix, if I write in spanish I’ll do it the whole text and so in english. I hate when I do that mix because I think is not respectful for my readers. 25 julio, 2015. 25 julio, 2015. Stories, tips and tricks from a jeune fille au pair. Day in the Life. Chris’ Weekend à Paris. March 28, 2012. This weekend was perhaps the first I’ve had when I’ve not felt completely homesick. I don’t want to say it was just because my boyfriend came to stay, but it’s definitely true when they say that home is where the heart is…. Perhaps they sensed the arrival of an Englishman. The world looks so much different when you’re with someone a bit special. The past couple of days I was bac...

Chaper 1: The Arrival. The shadows of the ominous-looking towers with blinking lights reflected off the tinted car window, as we zoomed soundlessly through the long, unwinding road.
