The Going to the Sun Road. In 1931 people up in Canada with Waterton Lakes National Park started to suggest a Peace Park to signify peace. This finally came through in 1932 when both governments voted for it and it is now known as Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park. The Going to the Sun Road. The going to the sun road is a great road to bike. The traffic is limited- and for parts of the year it's even closed off to cars. However. it didn't get its name for nothing. The road has a pretty good incline making it tough to climb, but a breeze to come down. literally!
