Turtle Tales: April 2007
http://turtletalez.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
A neophyte New Yorker creeps her way slowly through life. Monday, April 23, 2007. Ah Spring, when a young woman's thoughts turn to sandals, the Enlightenment and the slave trade, and the impending exodus to Chicago. If my last post left some of you in doubt as to my happiness with living in New York, never fear. This last month has been packed with fun little escapades. In an attempt to mix business with pleasure, my Moby-Dick. Class took in "Moby-Dick Rehearsed". I went to see Patrick Wolf.

Turtle Tales: Home Again
http://turtletalez.blogspot.com/2009/07/home-again.html
A neophyte New Yorker creeps her way slowly through life. Friday, July 31, 2009. Since being home I seem to be always doing something. Yet the pace has slowed somewhat. Part of it is just the settling in aspect (and man, it's hard incorporating a studio apartment's worth of stuff into this house), and part of is just the fact that I pretty much left my social life on the east coast. As for the fate of this blog, who knows? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Here, there, everywhere. Gob Wrote A Book.

Turtle Tales: October 2007

A neophyte New Yorker creeps her way slowly through life. Monday, October 22, 2007. It's simply beyond words. It's incalculable.". I am coming off a hellish few weeks in which I experienced the multiple joys of paper grading , mid-term grading, and having a professor evaluate one of my sections. I had a whole spiel about how teaching the classics makes me feel a bit like Michael Scott at times, but I fear my Google-savvy freshmen. I am an adult. I don’t have to think…or…do anything! Turtle Tales: May 2008

A neophyte New Yorker creeps her way slowly through life. Monday, May 05, 2008. Cue "Morning" by Grieg). Apologies for the lack of activity here but it's no fun writing in a fugue state. It's also impossible to write about life in New York when said life is.well.this:. Granted my lab is a windowless shared office in the basement of the same building that houses my department but you get the general idea. At any rate, I finally have something to write that isn't about stress, inertia, or panic. If this wa...

http://turtletalez.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
A neophyte New Yorker creeps her way slowly through life. Monday, March 08, 2010. I interrupt this long radio silence to announce that I'm in Tokyo, Japan for a couple of weeks decompressing from life and visiting Far East traveler and fellow blogger. I've been here since Wednesday and apart from vicious jet lag and the disorientation that comes from being more or less illiterate things have been pretty awesome. Top 5 Things I Love About Japan. 4 The hi-tech toilets. Heated seat? A little music maybe?

A neophyte New Yorker creeps her way slowly through life. Saturday, February 10, 2007. Challenge is this: Answer each question with exactly 3 words! YOU MUST USE 3 WORDS EXACTLY. (no more no less). Not as easy as you might think. 1 Where is your cell phone? 6 One of your favorite teams? 7 Your dream last night? 8 Your favorite drink? 9 Your dream girl/guy? 10 The room you are in? 13 What do you want to be in 10 years? 14 Who did you hang out with last night? 15 What are you not? 16 Are you in love? Turtle Tales: Memorial Day etc
http://turtletalez.blogspot.com/2009/05/memorial-day-etc.html
A neophyte New Yorker creeps her way slowly through life. Thursday, May 28, 2009. Back from a very long weekend in Phoenix, AZ visiting Mary and nursing a sprained/twisted knee while I upload photos and avoid thinking about work. Given my usual knack for injury the knee should come as no surprise although to be fair I didn't fall myself. Rather I was knocked down by a very exuberant Weimaraner. See the culprit, Reilly, here with her very patient owner Max. Monday we went to the Chihuly. Gob Wrote A Book.

Monday, December 18, 2006. Why don't people shower during finals? Edited to add: People, put on your fucking shoes! This isn't your mom's house. Friday, December 15, 2006. Break From Paper Writing. Yes it's that time. The odd thing is that I find myself entering into long conversations with people applying to Ph....
