Stories of and from women in science, engineering, technology and math. Contributing to the carnival. March Scientiae: Call for Posts. Published by Amanda@Lady Scientist on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 1:54 PM. I'm Amanda at A Lady Scientist. And I'm hosting Scientiae for March. To start you all thinking about this topic I looked it up in the OED. To your post to...
Design. Build. Play.: Pointless Cat Photo
Design. Build. Play. TechCat is doing much better since we've come back. She's freaking out less that we'll leave again or send her off again. She's been doing what cats do. Napping during the midday, sharing the fan air with us and trying to stay cool in this heat. Kitteh pics are *never* pointless. TechCat is very fluffy. What a cutie. Http:/ www.npeducations.com. Design. Build. Play. Power of Good Mentorship. I've been re-watching episodes of Star Trek Deep Space Nine lately. In an episode in season 2, Shadowplay. Commander Sisko is talking to his son Jake about future possible plans to join Starfleet. He encourages his son to start training (sort of an internship) under Chief O'Brien. I found it while browsing on Yahoo News. Do you have any suggestions on how to get listed in Yahoo. Ive been trying for a while but I never seem to get there! Mechanical engineer, ...
Design. Build. Play.: March 2011
Design. Build. Play. I wanted to step aside from my usual topics and discuss one that I think is deadly serious: the presence of Han Solo in. Return of the Jedi. If you watch as many Star Wars documentaries and making of films as I do, you know that Harrison Ford asked George Lucas to kill off his character in. The Empire Strikes Back. He (Ford) felt that Han had already made the switch from self-serving scoundrel to supportive rebel. If you watch the DVD commentary from Lucas on. Return of the Jedi.

Design. Build. Play.: October 2010
Design. Build. Play. Civic Duty and Laziness. It's disappointing that less than 100 years ago women fought for me to have rights I can't even muster up the appreciation for. I'm thinking about how I'm going to get to work and to school and to my other class and how I could possibly fit in a trip to the polling place during the hours it's open. I mean, employers. To give you time off if your work schedule doesn't permit you time to vote. But what if you have other obligations after? Links to this post.
