Wednesday, December 31, 2008. The Eve of the New Year. The last weeks have been an adjustment but my husband and I (and Casey) are slowly adjusting to life without Silk. This time of year is bittersweet. as 2008 was a year that brought us extreme happiness and deep sadness. Saturday, November 29, 2008. I'm thankful for my husband. I'm thankful for our dogs, our families and our friends. It's amazing how much I have to be thankful for and how my life has changed so much—for the better—over the last two years. Ever since I met my husband, it's like all my dreams have come true. So I'm so thankful for my life. Whatever the future brings, if we have a child or just raise a pack of dogs, I'm thankful. I hope that you, my readers, have reason to be thankful too. Friday, October 16, 2009. The Good and The Not-So-Good. As I posted two days ago, McBaby (aka Little Man) is two months old. He went for his well baby visit at the pediatrician on Wednesday afternoon and while overall he's very healthy and doing very well for his age, there was some "not-so-good" news. First with the good stuff. He's healthy. He's thriving. At birth he weighed 9 lb and was 20.5 inches long. Now he's 13 lb 8 oz and 23 inches long. Little Man has an umbilical hernia. Next is the Hydrocele.

Thursday, September 17, 2009. My Baby is One Month Old! Who tells a new mom NOT to worry? I know not to worry but following through with that is not an easy feat. In fact, I was once told that a mother ALWAYS worries, no matter how old her child is. So when one's child is one month old and cannot verbalize how he feels, what he needs, etc., one worries. Monday, August 31, 2009. The First Two Weeks. Sorry about that commentary, folks. But my son's bodily functions are very much on my mind these days. I'm so involved in his pee, poop, spit up, etc. that it's somewhat frightening. But his pooping is a sign of health, so if he doesn't poop by 6 pm today I actually have to call his pediatrician's office again. (I call a lot; new mom questions etc.). But the baby is thriving.
