Stipendium peccati mors est" The reward of sin is death: that's hard The Tragedy of Dr Faustus. Thursday, September 30, 2010. Behold, the best tasting carrots in the world! For the first time I grew backyard carrots . and I have to say they are delicious. I wilwas worried they would be woody but they are really very tender and sweet. For some reason the zukes and squash didn't do to well. Bf finally got his boat in the water and it floats! I am glad that your garden came alive this year. Dr Zhivago, Bori...

Stipendium peccati mors est" The reward of sin is death: that's hard The Tragedy of Dr Faustus. Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Got ourselves something of a little blizard here in the PNW. We got about 3 inches or so here yesterday and with record low temps a lot of people had a real nasty commute last night. I played it safe and didn't go in to work as my shift is 4.45 to 8.45pm. Found out they closed early so I didn't feel too bad. Beautiful picture of the snow! Our hummingbirds are.gone. Probably ...Happy...

Stipendium peccati mors est" The reward of sin is death: that's hard The Tragedy of Dr Faustus. Wednesday, September 08, 2010. The garden is winding down even though I wish it wasn't. Got lots of big breen tomatos, corn that's not quite ready. So far I have harvested quite a few peas,a few pounds of taters, lots of apples. There are some squash and zukes but unless we get some more days of sunshine I don't hold out much hope.Seems like winter is on it's way. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Turning th...

A few weeks ago we took a trip down to Fort Vancouver and here are some pictures. And the old privy.I really wondered about the double hole there.was there some kind of bathroom buddy system? It was a neat place to visist. There were actors in the fort kitchen makinf bread in giant ovens and a blacksmith explaining the forge. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Well, it's true isn't it?

My thoughts on knitting, spinning, and parenting. Thursday, July 10, 2008. Tour de Fleece and Shout Out. There's a new button over in the sidebar, yep, I signed up for the Tour de Fleece. I'd like to make a shout out to my friend Kerry. Who when properly motivated by promises of chocolate, STR, and cashmere, has finished her koigu sweater over the 4th of July weekend. Doesn't it look great? Well done, Kerry! I'm rooting for you! Spin, girl, spin! That is, indeed, what it took! You can do it! An Everyday ...

Feathers and Faith

Friday, January 12, 2018. These words of Richard Rohr’s offer me a lesson I have opportunity to learn each day. Recently, an incident reminded me that regardless of the job that I do, there is always so much more to alter in my own actions. When he comes into the pantry, he leaves behind a mess. dirty dishes, food crumbs/spills. He is a mess. One Sunday, he came to the Hot Lunch.35 minutes after the official closing. I give if I have it to give with only an occasional exception. I appeased my conscious a...

Feathers and Fingerprints

Thursday, October 17, 2013. My son is constantly driving little cars around the house. He lays on the floor and pushes them around the living room and up the hall. A couple weeks ago I decided he needed a car track to cruise around. I scavenged a piece of chipboard from the garage and routed the edges. Ryan cut scrap boards into little block houses and each kiddo painted one. The girls also painted two blocks as a school and a store. Painting is very serious business. Links to this post. Without him my k...
