Fictional Distraction: Review: Uses for Boys by Erica Lorraine Scheidt
http://fictionaldistraction.blogspot.com/2013/01/book-review-uses-for-boys-by-erica-lorraine-scheidt.html
Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Review: Uses for Boys by Erica Lorraine Scheidt. By Erica Lorraine Scheidt. January 15th, 2013. Then comes Sam. When Anna actually meets a boy who is more than just useful, whose family eats dinner together, laughs, and tells stories, the truth about love becomes clear. And she finally learns how it feels to have something to lose—and something to offer. Real, shocking, uplifting, and stunningly lyrical, Uses for Boys is a story of breaking down and growing up. I remember you t...

Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Waiting on Wednesday #86. Is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine. That spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating. This week's pick is. Fictional Distraction: Review: Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
http://fictionaldistraction.blogspot.com/2013/02/book-review-scarlet-by-marissa-meyer.html
Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Review: Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. February 7th, 2013. Received from UK publisher. This is not the fairytale you remember. But it’s one you won’t forget. Scarlet Benoit’s grandmother is missing. The police have closed her case. The only person Scarlet can turn to is Wolf, a street fighter she does not trust, but they are drawn to each other. The following review might include spoilers for the first book. My Rating: 4.5. Still craving to know more about the Lunar Chronicles.

Bringing The Epic: Review: The Disenchantments
http://www.bringingtheepic.com/2012/02/review-disenchantments.html
Bringing you the epic as I see fit! Monday, February 20, 2012. Colby and Bev have a long-standing pact: graduate, hit the road with Bev's band, and then spend the year wandering around Europe. But moments after the tour kicks off, Bev makes a shocking announcement: she's abandoning their plans - and Colby - to start college in the fall. Don't think that by any means this means that it's a book to skip, it's just my opinion and really some of my best friends have detested books that have all but changed m...

The Girl Who Reads {A Lot}: Rating System
http://thegirlwho-readsalot.blogspot.com/p/rating-system.html
Thoroughly enjoyable and re-readable; p. Retty much as close to perfect as it gets. Very good. Entertaining despite the few problems it may have. A good book, potentially suffering from being a bit average, but one that I probably liked nonetheless. Bad, but not without. Some redeeming qualities that save it from being a complete disaster. I'm looking at you, guilty pleasure books. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Nice Girls Read Books. Confessions of a Bookaholic. For Those About To Read. A Passion For Books.

Friday, April 12, 2013. I fired Betsy because she spent too much time arranging the loaves in the display window. I kept telling her, “We just need baskets so customers can see what we have and reach in to get what they need.” But she kept doing it her way. She spent hours creating elaborate constructions of wheat and sourdough, challah tucked into open spaces as support, round wreath loaves perched atop precarious towers. 8212;and some clean linen to line them with. There were no customers in the st...

Here are some of my works on the analysis of fictional discourse- only TV so far. My background is linguistics, that's why I pay attention mainly to language features, as opposed to others. However, I argue in favour of a multimodal approach to the analysis of media texts. Febrero 20, 2013. Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Review: Gilt by Katherine Longshore. Simon and Schuster Children's (UK). February 28th, 2013 (UK). In the court of King Henry VIII, nothing is free—and love comes at the highest price of all. My Rating: 4.0. As someone who is incredibly intrigued by the Tudor era, I had wanted to read. While I definitely read way too few historical novels, I tend to enjoy them a lot whenever I pick them up. Having watched the TV show The Tudors. A very unputdownable read. All in all, Gilt.
Fictional Dog
I've written a few non-fiction tales, now its time to try writing something different. Tuesday, January 10, 2006. The old mansion on the hill. The big old house up on the hill, over-looking the city not far from where i live, just on the other side. To this day it still remains, perched up there in all its glory. A very large building that was more of a Mansion. Its gates were of. Wrought iron and the property was completely closed in and off limits to all. We used. Other nearby Hal Roach Studios. Into t...
