Trained classically on viola from a very young age and began playing Irish fiddle as a teenager. Kira continues to grow as a fiddler of the Irish tradition, acquiring new tunes and ornaments all the time. Kira adds to the life of every group she plays with by connecting with the style and feel immediately. Kira has had the good fortune of playing with some of the greats of Irish music. She has studied in Ireland under Tommy Peoples, Ciaran Mooney, Dermot McLoughlin, and Oisin MacDiarmada.
