Monday, May 4, 2015. Being Impeccable With Your Words. I have always loved reading. But, as an adult I don't seem to have as much time to sit and read for hours (for leisure anyways). Unless I am on vacation. So, I tried audible by recommendation of my line sister. So far, I've listened to a few great ones. One of my latest favorites is the Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. I encourage everyone to read it! So understand that what you say, actually matters. Your words do have an effect on others.

I wanted to make something quick and easy and I since I've made all three of the dresses before, I knew they would be perfect for my fabric. Vogue suggested w ool and wool blends, tweeds, boucle, gabardine and medium-weight linen. I used a Jewel Heist metallic houndstooth knit (that's a mouth full) fabric from JoAnn Fabrics. The pattern is a pullover dress with close-fitting bodice variations, elasticized waist, and narrow hem. The dress looked just like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope. Friday, January 8, 2016. I ended 2015 with another self drafted tutu for my daughter. I underlined the skirt with faux-leather knit and added several layers of mesh to make it "big". Fast forward a couple of days. I started my new year with Simplicity 1276. I used stash Scuba Knit and Ponte Knit in the construction of this dress. I didn't like the shiny side of the Scuba knit against the dull Ponte so I cut it inside out and I love it! I continued the color-blocking effect with a blue zipper.
