Some perspective | fragments of a wandering mind

Late night musings of a news junky. Fragments of a wandering mind. So basically, the surface area of the BP oil spill. Is about equal to the size of Israel. If you superimposed that left floating chunk over the lower half, it would fit. They say Israel is a third the size of the State of New York. But still, this is frightening to see visualized, even with that knowledge. My hopes and prayers are with all corrective measures. Tags: BP oil spill. A few parting words. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Buongiorno! | fragments of a wandering mind
https://bookishjoy.wordpress.com/2011/01/11/bonjourno
Late night musings of a news junky. Fragments of a wandering mind. I’m traveling with my family for two weeks. First stop, Rome. Here’s a letter I wrote to my grandfather, who recently learned the power of email (a big step up for a lifelong typewriting devoté). Photos tk. After my mother declined a one-euro trip to the bathroom, we figured out how to get on an exposed tour bus (no small feat, if you were wondering.) We did that for two hours, which gave us an incredible view and narrative of this go...

Reading list | fragments of a wandering mind
https://bookishjoy.wordpress.com/reading-list
Late night musings of a news junky. Fragments of a wandering mind. I like lists. I also like reading. And summer is coming soon. In light of the above, I’m creating a list of books I intend to read, and will cross them out as I go along. Please comment with suggestions. Thanks! 8211; The Namesake. By Ian McEwan (amazing). Good, less amazing, fast). Shakespeare and the Culture of Paradox. So great. I love the way he plays with binaries, teaches seminars. By Jack Kerouac, thanks Kavitha! Already done pre-l...

A few parting words | fragments of a wandering mind
https://bookishjoy.wordpress.com/2010/05/18/a-few-parting-words
Late night musings of a news junky. Fragments of a wandering mind. A few parting words. More commencement stuff soon. But I’m moving out of the dorm now, and I’m not sad anymore. That’s because I realized that you never lose the people you love. You keep in touch with them. You call, you e-mail, you meet up. You carry them with you and within you. I leave with that knowledge. I leave with my heart bursting with love and happiness. I do not like this. Some perspective →. May 18, 2010 at 9:21 pm. Alex S...

Another letter | fragments of a wandering mind
https://bookishjoy.wordpress.com/2010/05/12/another-letter
Late night musings of a news junky. Fragments of a wandering mind. I know that our mutually dependent relationship ends one week from today. However, I thought I might clear the air by mentioning that I did not appreciate approaching my dorm after submitting a 20-pager only to feel heat coming out from under the door. Indeed, when I opened it,. Something heat-generating, I wondered? Care about me because I’m about to be an alumna! And I hear you have a thing for donations…. I do not like this. →. I use t...

Late night musings of a news junky. Fragments of a wandering mind. Hello, world (but I typed that in). Pardon, once more, the extended slumber here. Life has been full with new jobs, lots of writing, little sleep, and my first apartment. I intend to think up something more worthwhile to say here shortly, as I’m beginning to get into a rhythm. Until then, here’s my placeholder portfolio. If anyone is at all interested in reading my work. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Liza / Find the...
