We have hoods to handle fires of multiple sizes, have a reconfigurable room that can be adjusted to multiple sizes or into a multi-room hall configuration. Test standard is designed to identify the flash point of a fuel of interest. Identifying flash point can be useful in spotting potential hazards associated with materials under certain high temperature environments. The standard is used to identify the physical properties of the materials, products, or assemblies in question and determine at what temperature will the object in question flash over with flame. The test is performed using a Cleveland open cup apparatus.

In 1985 the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) performed a study to establish a bench-scale test method to determine the ignition and flame spread properties of materials. The ASTM E1321. Ignition data for 3.175 mm thick hardboard(150 mm square). The thermal inertia, kρc,determined from the slope of the ignition curve, b, describes the time response of a material to heating and subsequent ignition.

ASTM E662: Optical Density of Smoke. The Smoke Density Chamber setup consists of a compartment with a light source on one end, a photosensor opposite the light source, and a burner to ignite the sample material. As the material is ignited by the burner, smoke fills the room, obscuring the light emitted by the light source. The obscuration is measured by the photosensor.
