Reading, Writing, Running and Rants! Holiday reading – the purchases. April 6, 2011. From → Uncategorized. Larr; E-readers… is it time to succumb? What I did on my holidays… →. Leave one →. April 6, 2011 10:42 pm. I need to wear my reading glasses. I thought the third book was titled “The Lust Anniversary”. Googled it and found it nowhere. Come to think of it not a bad name for a book! Reading, Writing, Running and Rants! I’m a Melbourne based writer, reader and mother of three. When I’m not tapping away at the keyboard, immersed in a book or up to my armpits in housework, I like to pull on my runners and pound the pavement for an hour or so. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. E-readers… is it time to succumb? | First Draft

Reading, Writing, Running and Rants! E-readers… is it time to succumb? April 5, 2011. Thanks for all the reading suggestions. Most people posted directly on my Facebook link to this post, so not all suggestions will show up in the comments here. A diverse range of authors/genres were suggested – everything from Mills and Boon to Margaret Atwood. I’m shopping tomorrow so I will let you know what I choose. Help me out here! Do I really need an e-reader and if so, which one should I get? Leave one →. I like...
NaNo Day One | First Draft
https://firstdraft1.wordpress.com/2011/11/01/nano-day-one
Reading, Writing, Running and Rants! November 1, 2011. Despite it probably being a dumb idea, I went ahead and registered for NaNoWriMo. It’s Melbourne Cup Day here – a public holiday – and so I got off to a pretty good start. 1701 words were written on my new novel today. That’s about 1600 more words than I’ve written in any one sitting for over a year now, so I’m pretty happy with that. From → Uncategorized. Larr; To NaNo or not to NaNo? Leave one →. Forge & Brew: Playing with fire
http://forgeandbrew.blogspot.com/2012/10/playing-with-fire.html
Ruminations on life and writing. Saturday, 13 October 2012. The past several weeks I've been doing fire warden training. Our first session was all sorts of theory about fire - commonsense stuff about "the fire triangle", which is constructed of oxygen, fuel and heat. Take one away and the fire is gone. Were introduced. Had fire extinguishers been available, the flare up would have been put out when it was still small. All our fire fighting efforts (overseen by representatives of the Metropolitan Fire Bri...
Forge & Brew: Two dead birds
http://forgeandbrew.blogspot.com/2012/07/two-dead-birds.html
Ruminations on life and writing. Saturday, 7 July 2012. I'm down at Phillip Island, sitting in my favourite cafe, empty breakfast plate before me, hugging my wonderful coffee. And I thought I'd try posting from my phone. So far so good. I've sadly seen two dead birds in strange circumstances. Both remarkably intact, as though freshly deceased. The first was in our fire place! Could it have fallen down the chimney flue? I thought it was covered. Monday, 06 August, 2012. Wonder if it could mean something.
Forge & Brew: Now the netball's over, guess I'd better get productive
http://forgeandbrew.blogspot.com/2012/07/now-netballs-over-guess-id-better-get.html
Ruminations on life and writing. Sunday, 29 July 2012. Now the netball's over, guess I'd better get productive. Today I finally had my Sunday afternoon back. For the past four months it's been netball season - and that's meant double-header netball games on the TV or else a trip into Hisense Arena to watch the Melbourne Vixens live. (And then home again quick smart to watch the game again! But although I love the netball season, I'm happy it's over. That's a whole lot of time I now have back to reall...
Forge & Brew: In need of a time-turner, NOW
http://forgeandbrew.blogspot.com/2012/01/in-need-of-time-turner-now.html
Ruminations on life and writing. Friday, 20 January 2012. In need of a time-turner, NOW. It's been a very chaotic start to the year for me. Two new writing initiatives. Relatively new job. High expectations of myself. Recipe for brian melt-down. By the end of the week I was a wreck: high-strung, aggro, exhausted. But I did have the required quota of words! So I decided to accept that I could probably only do one thing each evening after work - at least until I stop arriving home so drained. And I dec...
Forge & Brew: More birds - alive!
http://forgeandbrew.blogspot.com/2012/08/more-birds-alive.html
Ruminations on life and writing. Saturday, 25 August 2012. More birds - alive! Very pleased to report more bird sightings this trip to Phillip Island - this time alive! In fact, this time the theme is baby birds, perhaps not surprising, given the season. So far today, we have seen:. Two little cygnets with mummy and daddy black swans;. Two baby penguins nestling in separate burrows at the nobbies;. A quintet of baby cape barren geese with mummy and daddy. A very satisfying day of wildlife spotting. Top 1...
Forge & Brew: And there went September!
http://forgeandbrew.blogspot.com/2012/10/and-there-went-september.html
Ruminations on life and writing. Friday, 5 October 2012. And there went September! I'm sure I said I was going to blog weekly here. Oops. I've now reached the end of double workhell month - yay! And have to say that I'm in a good place. My new writing philosophy seems to be helping me stay positive. Basically, I'm focusing on. The process and using this to drive me back to the wip every chance I get. And I'm not beating myself up if I don't get there, or demanding unrealistic achievements of myself.
Forge & Brew: Working way out west
http://forgeandbrew.blogspot.com/2012/01/working-way-out-west.html
Ruminations on life and writing. Friday, 6 January 2012. Working way out west. Now I have a car, the commute to work is a whole lot easier. Brooklyn (next door to Altona) is well serviced by the Geelong Freeway; public transport not so much. The Brooklyn/Altona area where I work is all concrete and steel and fumes and rubber. Apparently there is a park (of the flora kind) nearby somewhere, but I haven't found it. My food options in this new job are terrible. OK, so there's Altona Gate shopping centre....
Forge & Brew: Winter of the boots
http://forgeandbrew.blogspot.com/2012/08/winter-of-boots.html
Ruminations on life and writing. Saturday, 11 August 2012. Winter of the boots. I remember a period during my undergraduate university years when I was in the habit of wearing skirts - the long, flowing kind. I can't remember why I stopped (maybe they went out of fashion), but I did stop, and for years after that I became convinced that I 'don't wear dresses'. Selecting dresses to wear to weddings was torture. Bought myself a pair of boots. Now, being a fantasy reader and writer, I'm partial to the idea ...
Forge & Brew: High Tea at Sofi's Lounge, Sofitel
http://forgeandbrew.blogspot.com/2013/05/high-tea-at-sofis-lounge-sofitel.html
Ruminations on life and writing. Sunday, 26 May 2013. High Tea at Sofi's Lounge, Sofitel. There is little more decadent than indulging in an afternoon of High Tea, complete with chocolate fountain and bubbles, alongside good friends. Mini pikelets dripping in chocolate. Trust me. I am now flaked out on the couch, sworn off food for the next 12 hours. But, despite the aftermath, the experience itself is wonderful, and destined to be repeated. Our mission: To find the best High Tea in Melbourne. It was, ye...

L’inclusione rilancia gli obiettivi di Milano. Chicago o San Francisco?

Just Another Blog | More Crap to rot your brain
More Crap to rot your brain. October 7, 2010. FS7605 was a great road. This is a fun road, in fair condition. There were a couple areas with sizable ruts and a lot of fun water bars. From the start of FS7605 to the top of Burley Mountain is only 9 miles, but in that 9 miles you gain 4000 feet in elevation. Overall it was a fantastic filled with fun, laughter and some great scenery. Click here to see all of the photos. Click to download tracks. October 5, 2010. Okay, so that is the story of our trip. ...

A place for writers to drop in, unwind, and relax between drafts. This blog is updated fortnightly. Sunday, 18 March 2018. Yes, I'm Rolling My Eyes! More snow - Really? I'm sick of this wintery weather. I really am. I dream of sunshine and primroses daffodils, tulips and blossom on the trees. Of warmer, happier days. I yearn for tea and cake on the lawn. I could be positive and look at it another way, snowy weekends mean I can stay home and get things done around the house. Ugh! Seriously, it's a joke, o...
