New Teacher, Now What. Seriously should have been a course on this. Monday, December 27, 2010. Last night the sky began to vomit white snowy wonder all along the eastern seaboard, covering my neck of New Jersey in 31.8 inches of icy terror. It was fun while it lasted. When are we ever going to use this? The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young minds for the purpose of satisfying it afterwards." -Anatole France. Saturday, September 03, 2005. Just finished my first 4 days of preservice work. Since we moved to a new (to us) facility this year there has been a lot of unpacking and scrounging of materials. I am exhausted, but not overwhelmed. This is a good thing. I will write a more detailed report sometime this weekend.

New Teacher, Now What. Seriously should have been a course on this. Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Does that make sense? I hope it does. Because that is the best I can do at the moment since I have not eaten in 36 hours. For the past two weeks I've called out from my swim job because (clumsy fool that I am) I've sprained my ankle. again. So, we're walking in the woods and had just found a nice little spot to have our lunch. We split a turkey sandwhich on whole wheat bread. Mm.healthy. Why am I fasting?

New Teacher, Now What: Day 5 - Sugar High
http://www.newteachernowwhat.com/2012/04/day-5-sugar-high.html
New Teacher, Now What. Seriously should have been a course on this. Tuesday, April 3, 2012. Day 5 - Sugar High. For the past 2 1/2 weeks I've been pretty closely adhering to something called the Paleo Diet. The Paleo Diet. I was curious. So I did what anyone in my age bracket in search of answers would do - I Googled and came across Mark's Daily Apple. About 4 days in I felt really sluggish, but I attributed that to my body detoxing from sugar/carb withdrawl. According to the experts in the blogosphe...

New Teacher, Now What. Seriously should have been a course on this. Friday, September 16, 2011. Almost 10 years ago I met the man of my dreams. A few months ago I started a campaign to get him to marry me. It all started with an email, full of photographs of places that I'd like to get married some day. Thankfully, he was open to it. And I'm happy to say that I'm now. New Teacher, Now What. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Follow New Teacher, Now What? View my complete profile.

And it seems that doctors and a lot of other very smart people are beginning to take that message to the streets. An interesting article in the New York Times. This morning showcased Healthy Kitchens/Healthy Lives. An annual leadership conference aiming to create a bridge between science, health care and the culinary arts. Which br...

Time management.Does that really exist for teachers? I'm beginning to feel that as much as I WANT to be completely organized and ahead of the game, I'm just constantly falling behind! My to-do list is miles long and I'm bothered that I can't ever seem to be ahead! And I look at my colleagues and wonder how they seem to have everything under control. Even THEY tell me that they struggle and STILL struggle with an ever-expanding list. So does time management actually exist in this world of teaching?
