Glimpses of Holy: November 2010
http://glimpsesofholy.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 24, 2010. Meaningful family stories that are passed down from generation to generation never seem to loose their significance. Thanksgiving always seems to be the time of year when I think about my favorite family story - one that has been passed down for over 300 years. Today, I am thankful for all those who have come before me, weaving the story of history - especially my Pilgrim ancestors. My genealogy to Mary:. Mary Allerton (m. Thomas Cushman). James Cushman (m. Sarah Hatch).

Glimpses of Holy: July 2010
http://glimpsesofholy.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 21, 2010. The past 10 days have gone something like this: plane crash, VBS x 5, VBS tear down, wedding, funeral, worship service/baptism, funeral, funeral. I am tired. I need some normal to come back into my life. But in the same breath in which that sentence escapes, guilt creeps in. I get to go back to normal - Jill, Donna and Pam will never know the same normal again. Life is a gift - love while you can. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your m...

Glimpses of Holy: Curmudgeons
http://glimpsesofholy.blogspot.com/2013/03/curmudgeons.html
Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Do you know any curmudgeons? You know, those bad-tempered, difficult people who seem to always be in your ear? I've met a few. Our family decided that each Sunday we are going to sit down together and watch The Bible. The docu-series that is airing on Discovery Channel now until Easter. It's a Story we have heard before, but in the weeks leading up to Easter, it is my hope that this powerful Story unfolds in new ways before our eyes. And yet Moses' staff turns the Nile to blood&...

Glimpses of Holy: January 2011
http://glimpsesofholy.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 8, 2011. On Christmas Eve, a homeless man was found in our church. It seems that he has been staying there at night for quite awhile. Although the police were called, no charges were pressed and they let him go. An act of mercy on a cold Christmas eve. He has since been back to the church, somehow finding a way to pry open a door to get in. After a week of several trips by the police, our exterior door locks have been made unpriable. We are pretty sure he hasn't been back. Which all lea...

Glimpses of Holy: February 2010
http://glimpsesofholy.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 26, 2010. Our Israeli tour guide's name was Alan. Except for the time that we were in Jordan, Alan led us from site to site, explained historical events, read us Scripture, and helped us picture the Holy Land at the time of Jesus. Alan told us many stories - including his own. First, he can't get past God's first two Commandments (Exodus 20:1-2):. 1 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me. For m...
