Just another WordPress.com site. A neighbor down the street gifted me with two bags of rhubarb! Imagine my delight as I’d been hunting for the stuff at every farmers market I could find. My plants did produce some this year, but not much. Next year I will divide them. I will also give them a heavy dose of well-rotted manure. I honestly didn’t know what the rhubarb needed and had just ignored both plants for years. But for now, what to do with all that rhubarb? How about Strawberry Rhubarb Marmalade!

This doesn’t happen often but when it does, we cut way back on water usage so we don’t completely empty our well. Next year, new plan. At home we were grateful to be able to wash our hands and take an occasional shower. Life didn’t return to normal in regard to water until October when the creek started to flow again.
