A blog about food and eating, drinks and drinking, cookware and cooking. Swedish Cinnamon Rolls: Kanelbullar. I posted a recipe for cinnamon rolls. A while back, and while they are definitely well worth baking, I prefer the Swedish kind I grew up with. The Swedish version is not as sweet (as they're not glazed) and contains cardamom, which you'll find pretty frequently in the Swedish kitchen (for example, it's featured in the mulled wine we drink around Christmas: glögg. 2 cups whole milk. 5 cups AP flour.

Leek and Potato Soup. 1 quart vegetable stock (preferably homemade - if not, low salt). 1 cup heavy cream. 1 cup buttermilk (can be substituted with a second cup of heavy cream). 3 tbsp unsalted butter. 1 Cut off the dark green parts of the leeks, leaving only the white parts (including the roots) and the light green parts. 3 Once cleaned, cut off and discard the roots, then cut the leeks into small pieces.

Just another WordPress.com weblog. So a few more days and it’ll be Christmas and I have so much to do. Besides the gifts I have to go food shopping. I don’t mind food shopping but I have NO idea what to cook during this holiday season. IDEAS? Let me just say I do not want to cook Turkey, Ham or Pork Shoulder. Like most of you, I will never forget that. This thought took a fleeting second. In the next, I realized the place is unusually quiet. I spotted one of my best friends. Celebrating the art of home cooking…. December 17, 2009. I used to sell these at our family business in Tucson, Az. Theses cookies are my own take on peanut butter blossoms. Cream together shortening, peanut butter, sugar and egg. Blend in flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Roll balls in sugar. Bake at 375 degrees F for 8-10 minutes. Add a Chocolate Kiss and bake 1-2 min more. Chewy Chocolate Ginger Cookies. These take a little more effort than your average cookie, but are totally worth it!

Visserligen finns det färdiga marinader att köpa, men hemmagjord är faktiskt godare och dessutom hur enkelt som helst. 1,5 dl rapsolja. 1 msk balsamvinäger (den mörka varianten). 0,5 msk soya. 2 msk sweet chili sås. 2 msk flytande honung. Marinaden räcker till ca 1 kg kött. Fiskpudding är en familjefavorit här hemma. Jag gör en fuskvariant med färdigköpt risgrynsgröt så blir det mycket smidigare att laga. 400g fryst torskfilé (1 paket). 0,25 krm vitpeppar. Tisdag 17 augusti 2010.
