Sunday, October 28, 2012. Recap of Recipes to Riches: Episode 1. Jason Keary and his delish bees' nests! The first episode of the season was titled "Cakes, Puddings and Pies." The three contestants were Jason Keary and his Cheesy bee's nests, Jillianne Niver with her Butterscotch pots de creme and Cherilynn Balachander and her Classic Batternburg Cake. This episode got me so excited for the new season and it was just a great reminder about how excited I was last fall! To watch this episode, go here.
Foodie McSnob | The truth about food in The Merrimak Valley
The truth about food in The Merrimak Valley. Lowell Food, er, Folk Fest July 24, 2010. My only complaint about Folk Fest this year is that The Lowell Sun could have buried the lead on this one day so as not to scare the tourists who saw this headline plastered all over the city: Two Women Dead in Lowell Stabbing. In broad day light, near the festival no less. I could write about Folk Fest for weeks so I am going to do you and me a favor and just list the highlights. People usually go to The Athenian Corn...
FoodieMD | Eating my way through medical school…and life.
Eating my way through medical school…and life. Spicy Asian White Bean Dip. April 21, 2012. The IGA was out of Hummus this week (and last week), so I bought a can of white beans and searched the internet for a white bean dip recipe. I found one from WhiteOnRiceCouple.Com ( http:/ whiteonricecouple.com/recipes/spicy-white-bean-dip/. That gave me an idea for what to do….Here it is with minimal adjustments:. 1 can White Beans (I use Progresso). 5 dashes Light soy sauce. 2 Tbsp Srirarcha or other hot sauce.

Why I never eat strawberries. It’s peak strawberry season now! I used to love eating strawberries. In fact, I could consume boxes of it in one sitting. Not anymore…. No touch, no touch! We were sitting in the examination room, waiting for our patient when our professor poked her head in. 8220;Are you ready for your patient? 8220;Sure, what is he here for? 8220; Testicular pain. Upon seeing my face, my professor added, “No, I’m not joking. And yes, a TARGETED physical exam.”. Our medical school loves to g...
My Dish on Southern Oregon's Fine Dining
My Dish on Southern Oregon's Fine Dining. Sunday, July 15, 2012. Je tamie.Loft Brasserie, Ashland. Last night my husband treated me to dinner at Loft Brasserie in Ashland, Oregon. While I will admit that "French Food" isn't exactly on my list of items ok to consume in my new found obsession with getting in shape, I was starving, desperate for an adult night out, and for something other than salad and protein shakes to put in my belly. I cannot speak much to the rabbit pate, other than to tell you my husb...

The Artisan Purveyor Recipe for Success. For Artisan Purveyors, getting your product packaged and produced is just the beginning of what often turns out to be a long and lonesome journey. Historically, food manufacturers have been in the business of co-packing Artisan Products but have done nothing to help small-batch makers grow and prosper. Essentially, Artisan Purveyors have been left standing on the loading dock with cases of product and nowhere to go. Keep your product relevant and trending as a rec...
