http://unexpectedadventurer.blogspot.com/2012/05/hayes-valley-fun.html
Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Hayes Street, courtesy of San Francisco Days. I love going to the city for a lovely weekend brunch and a bit of window shopping. And, in my opinion, there is no better place to do this than in Hayes Valley. Ritual Coffee, courtesy of Scott Beale. Steven Alan Boutique, courtesy of mission:closet. Will and I are avid window shoppers, mostly because everything on Hayes is out of our price range. But it is home to some great shopping, including Steven Alan. For some free samples....

the unexpected adventurer: "In Paris" In Berkeley
http://unexpectedadventurer.blogspot.com/2012/05/in-paris-in-berkeley.html
Wednesday, May 2, 2012. In Paris" In Berkeley. Last week Will and I were fortunate enough to go and see Mikhail Baryshnikov in the play "In Paris" at Berkeley Rep. Since Will received comp tickets for working on the show, we were able to make a date night of it by including a delicious dinner in Berkeley. Now Will and I love to check out fancy new restaurants in the Bay as often as we can afford it. Most of the time, because of my vegetarian tendencies, we end up eating Italian (which I adore! As stated ...

the unexpected adventurer: August 2011
http://unexpectedadventurer.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 26, 2011. A Quest for the Best. I'll admit it's been a loooong time since I've posted (mostly because, well, I've been working and not traveling) and I'm sorry for the delay. But here it is! I've been dragging my feet for a while, thinking that I had nothing worthwhile to say. Besides an update on my life, what adventures could I possibly have while stuck in Dublin? So I've linked to each restaurant's website in case you have the same idea! Cafe Fanny, Berkeley. I accidentally stumbled upo...

the unexpected adventurer: new year, new blog!
http://unexpectedadventurer.blogspot.com/2012/05/new-year-new-blog.html
Tuesday, May 1, 2012. New year, new blog! It's good to be back, fair readers! First off, I'd like amend a previous post and acknowledge the sad fact that Cafe Fanny has closed its doors after 28 years. Though I only discovered it recently, the absence of delicious croissants makes my heart break.just a little. There is no substitute for Fanny, but if you want an amazing brunch alternative in Berkeley, head up to La Note. On Shattuck. I highly recommend any. Plus they have an amazing outdoor patio. Subscr...

http://unexpectedadventurer.blogspot.com/2012/05/evening-of-theater-in-san-jose.html
Thursday, May 10, 2012. An Evening of Theater In San Jose. One of the things I love most in the world is a night out at the theater. I feel fortunate to have seen so many wonderful performances in my 25 years. My parents have always been supportive and taken me to see shows, and thanks to my work and friends comp tickets, the theater has always been an affordable option. Courtesy of San Jose Rep. the unexpected adventurer: December 2010
http://unexpectedadventurer.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 31, 2010. A Long(ish) Review: Diaghilev and the Golden Age of the Ballets Russes. All right, I know I've been dragging my feet on this one- mostly because it's such a great exhibit and I wanted to do it justice. Two weeks ago Will and I saw the "Diaghilev and the Golden Age of the Ballets Russes". Exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Exhibit at the British Museum. But the moment we walked into the Ballet Russes, we were floored. The V&A know how to put on a show. Was something I...

the unexpected adventurer: October 2010
http://unexpectedadventurer.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 31, 2010. Firenze: A lesson in Defensive Walking. First off, let me wish those of you in tech a very easy weekend, those of you in light hang a very easy weekend, and to the rest of you: Happy Halloween! So yesterday I made it to Italy without much difficulty. I mean, except for Bank of America, which is determined to make banking difficult, contrary to their slogan. Probably the best thing about Italy is that I am here and staying with my mom for the next two weeks! Espresso for breakfas...

Monday, May 14, 2012. The Cult of Beauty. Albert Joseph Moore "Midsummer." Courtesy of Art Knowledge News. It's been a few days, readers, and for that I apologize! But I've been very busy baking, and there are some awesome new recipes over at the fortuitous baker. Might I add- a great date night can be as simple (and cheap) as renting a movie, getting a frozen pizza (I just tried Freschetta's new Brick Oven Pizza. Oh and we built this sweet fort. At the Legion of Honor. The Contemporary Jewish Museum.

the unexpected adventurer: January 2011
http://unexpectedadventurer.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 30, 2011. I've got Seoul but I'm not a Soldier. Yesterday Lana, Steve, and I went to Seoul for a day trip. Let me tell you- it was one COLD day for outdoor activities! We went to Gyeongbokgung Palace, which is just gorgeous. And it wasnt that crowded (cold, Sunday). It was the first palace built by the Joseon founder and is centuries old. The palace and grounds are laid out meticulously- there is beautiful geometry and symmetry to the place. As I stood in the entrance to it, it had simila...

Friday, February 11, 2011. Guys it's really Disneyland! What a beautiful last morning in Korea! The sun is shining through the windows, it's clear and blue and probably only freezing! Sadly this is my last morning here with Lana and Steve. In a few hours I'm off to Incheon Airport to spend the day window shopping at Burberry and my other favorite shops that I cannot afford (last night I dreamed a bought a $1,000 lady gaga handbag? But before I left I just had to fill you in on last night! Omg- Steve disc...
