Nepalese Canadian Network - Blog: October 2010
http://www.blog.nepalesecanadian.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 24, 2010. Monday, October 11, 2010. In Canada Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday in October. Unlike the American tradition of remembering Pilgrims and settling in the New World, Canadians give thanks for a successful harvest. The harvest season falls earlier in Canada compared to the United States due to the simple fact that Canada is further north. After the Seven Year's War ended in 1763, the citizens of Halifax held a special day of Thanksgiving. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Wednesday, September 16, 2009. Parties divided on national flag. Political parties have found a new issue to lock their horns- national flag. The parties are divided on whether to retain the current flag or design a new one as the country has gone through a drastic political change. However, Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, among others, opposed the idea saying the existing flag is good enough to identify Nepal. Comment below and ask for a vote.
