A Stranger Every Sunday: July 2012
http://strangereverysunday.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
A Stranger Every Sunday. Sunday, July 22, 2012. Dewey Beach, part two. We walked to the beach after dark on the Fourth of July, where a happy crowd was enjoying fireworks, both in the sky . . . And on the sand . . . The moon was so big and orange that it almost competed with the fireworks. On July 5th, we drove over to Cape Henlopen State Park. Beautiful. Back to Nalu for lunch. Cobb salad for Neil and a pulled pork sandwich for me. Then we decided to escape the heat in a movie theater, and saw. So we ma...

A Stranger Every Sunday: March 2012
http://strangereverysunday.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
A Stranger Every Sunday. Saturday, March 31, 2012. Ten minutes from here. On Thursday and Friday last week I tried walking ten minutes in all four directions from one starting point (38th and Market, Philadelphia), and then taking a picture of whatever I found in each spot. Going north, I found a sign outside the Roman Catholic cathedral that has been de-sanctified and turned into apartments. I'd love to see those apartments. But I admit I'm more open to the older women. The thing is, he's been 51 for at...

A Stranger Every Sunday: May 2012
http://strangereverysunday.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
A Stranger Every Sunday. Thursday, May 24, 2012. And so it goes. Why can't I blog consistently these days? No idea, though I have been busy (that hasn't stopped me before). The online class I'm teaching involves some pretty heavy grading. I like these students a lot, and I do want to give them a good experience with the class. My next article for. Has gone through a few more edits and drafts, but I think it is finally done. What a lot of trouble just from stumbling on the stairs one night! I think I had ...

A Stranger Every Sunday: January 2013
http://strangereverysunday.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
A Stranger Every Sunday. Monday, January 28, 2013. I don't know why I haven't posted in so long. This probably has something to do with the fact that a completely optional activity sometimes just doesn't get done. If you don't. To do it . . . Which is a shame, not so much because I haven't posted but because I truly appreciate reading blogs written by other people who are probably much busier than I am, and also do not. But they do, and I am glad of it. Sometimes things just look new, in a new light.

A Stranger Every Sunday: April 2012
http://strangereverysunday.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
A Stranger Every Sunday. Friday, April 27, 2012. Since my last post. I have developed sciatica, which sounds like some sort of beautiful flower (I arranged bunches of lovely pink and blue sciatica) but is actually a darn painful condition. It could be worse ( I would rate the pain as only 3-4 on a scale of 1-10, so that's not too bad) but it has certainly slowed me down. Ah well - it will probably go away on its own in another week or so. Neil has been in and out of the hospital. Links to this post.

A Stranger Every Sunday: November 2012

A Stranger Every Sunday. Sunday, November 18, 2012. Two books and almost three movies. I read two wonderful memoirs recently:. By Jeannette Walls, and. Completely agree with these reviews:. 8220;Do not read this book in public. You will risk severe internal injuries from trying to suppress your laughter. . . . What’s worse, you can’t put it down once started. Its addictive powers stun all normal decent resistance within seconds. Not to be missed.” (. Also, recently saw two movies:. And that reminds me -.

A Stranger Every Sunday: September 2012
http://strangereverysunday.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
A Stranger Every Sunday. Saturday, September 29, 2012. I have been busy all week - happily so. On Tuesday, for example, I arrived at work a bit early, as the sun was rising. And the first light was touching the street sculpture near the office. After work, I took a very nice group of physicians out to dinner, and then walked to the train station. And you like puzzling over odd displays in store windows, such as this roller skate sculpture. Links to this post. Eva Cassidy - such a talent, too short a life.

A Stranger Every Sunday: October 2012

A Stranger Every Sunday. Monday, October 29, 2012. It's been an odd day, waiting for Hurricane Sandy to really. Hit us. Sandy is sort of here already, but so far it's just rather heavy rain and wind - and waiting, and listening to newscasters warn us all of impending doom. My workplace is closed today and tomorrow, so I spent the day working from home, which is nice. I may or may not have storm photos later, but for now I'll just catch up on what has been happening over the past week. This surprised me, ...

A Stranger Every Sunday: Rambutan
http://strangereverysunday.blogspot.com/2012/10/rambutan.html
A Stranger Every Sunday. Saturday, October 6, 2012. My son brought some home to try. (I'm very happy that he is an adventurous cook.). It's okay. I wouldn't go out of my way to find some, but perhaps there are recipes that use this ingredient well. Of course, you wouldn't want to eat it unpeeled. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
