History of Eastern Cemetery. Residents you may recognize. Residents to learn more about. This wake house was designed by famed architects Charles Clarke and Arthur Loomis of Clarke and Loomis. It held the deceased prior to burial and is an outstanding example of Richardsonian Romanesque architecture. Here you can see the wake house again and our showcase section to the left. We have focused the majority of our preservation and restoration efforts here. We are very proud of the result.
