And best of all a large (presumably female) Goshawk. Seen on 3 occasions between 1.30pm and 2pm. 2 Ravens. Also flew over and in the garden a brief burst of song from a Firecrest.

Paul Matson's Birding Blog: Vietnam March 2014
http://paulmatsonbirdsandstuff.blogspot.com/p/vietnam-march-2014.html
Paul Matson's Birding Blog. Harpy Eagle, Venezuela, April 2016. The temperature in Saigon and the South reached the high to mid 30's in the afternoon and it was a dry heat. As we moved North not only did the temperature drop but we had a real mixture of rain, fog and some chilly weather. Some observations about Vietnam . Like other parts of South East Asia, the natural rainforest resources do not appear to have a cherished status of preservation despite some places obtaining the National Park label. ...

Paul Matson's Birding Blog. Harpy Eagle, Venezuela, April 2016. Monday, 12 January 2015. Sunday 11th January - Muddy Legs. An unexpected ending to the day. I hadn't been for a walk from the house for a long while, so decided to do just that this morning, especially as the weather looked good for the first part of the day, a slight frost was on the ground as I climbed over the garden fence just after 8am and headed up to the lane. A Great Spotted Woodpecker. Was in the big arable field, several Siskin.

Paul Matson's Birding Blog: Tuesday 6th January - Grey, grim, damp and Dusky

Paul Matson's Birding Blog. Harpy Eagle, Venezuela, April 2016. Tuesday, 6 January 2015. Tuesday 6th January - Grey, grim, damp and Dusky. Chi gravel pits are a place I normally drive straight past without a look - a decent lake complex that has turned up good birds and at the very least holds an number of waterfowl, so I'm not sure what it is but I just find the place unappealing to walk around and I'm not sure that the grey damp start today endeared me to the place any more. After another 5 minutes wai...

Paul Matson's Birding Blog. Harpy Eagle, Venezuela, April 2016. Friday, 6 March 2015. Friday 6th March - Winter Shrike. Went for a walk on Iping Common this morning. A cool wind and grey skies suggested Winter isn't giving up easily. The Great Grey Shrike. A brief view of a Dartford Warbler. And Stonechat, a singing. And the distant calls of Woodlark. Were the only other activity. The Iping Great Grey Shrike. Cows employed to graze the heathland at Stedham. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://organicbirder.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, 30 January 2015. Although I hadn't planned to, dropped in at Coldwaltham sewage works on the way back from Rackham today to find the two Siberian Chiffchaffs. Showing well with six Chiffchaffs. And a party of Long-Tailed Tits. At Rackham, a Marsh Tit. Were the highlights whilst a 2015 Sussex Lesser Pecker still shuns me! Sunday, 25 January 2015. Was distantly present at Chichester Marina today with 20 Little Grebes. And a Great-Crested Grebe. This was the best I could do pic-wise:. Were on the wi...

organicbirder: Spotted Flycatchers at Oving & Church Norton
http://organicbirder.blogspot.com/2015/08/it-was-childcare-for-me-all-saturday.html
Monday, 17 August 2015. Spotted Flycatchers at Oving and Church Norton. It was childcare for me all Saturday but some diversion was provided by two Spotted Flycatchers. In the garden in Oving. I was called "jammy" for this.better not mention the two Pied Flycatchers. A shout from HR on Facebook and a zoom down to Climping on Saturday night got me Long-Eared. L in flight and Short-Eared Owl. And a rather baffled youth in a Saxo wondering what all the people were doing in the area. The deal's off pal!

Tuesday, 30 December 2014. Took Dad up to the Ferry Pool at Sidlesham this morning for the Tundra Bean Goose. Which obliged, albeit fairly distantly at the back by the 12-bar gate. It was a lifer for him though I reckon he might just have forgotten that he saw a few around Rye in the 50s! Incidentally, whilst we were there news broke of a Little Bustard. At East Guldeford who Dad used to play football for back in the day). At Chainbridge, a few Stonechats. And a bright yellow Chiffchaff. It would appear ...
