During the recent arctic conditions (Dec 2010) when the snow was thick on the ground, Dave Wathen, the Park Gardener, took these wonderful photos which make the Park look even more beautiful:. The Friends of Peace Memorial Park. Map of the Park. HISTORY OF PEACE MEMORIAL PARK. Peace Memorial Park stands on what was known as Gaol Close. This land was purchased in 1921 from Mr Albert Hill, with the intention of “establishing a Memorial of the Peace which terminated the Great War”. The cost paid by the Council was £741.10s, some of which was raised by public subscription. The land was then laid out as a park which included a bowling green. Community Web Kit provided free by BT.

True, it would be great to have a talent that is easily visible and richly rewarded because it brings so much pleasure to so many other people, but most of us will remain biggish fish in smallish ponds – if we're lucky enough to achieve THAT much! It's actually kind of mystical, this co-evolution of audience, message, messenger . . . quite mystical! Here's one of Eugene's poems, written about his beloved father, a coal miner in Hazleton, PA. Pop mined you in the dark. He saved the sunshine for me.

The Friends of Point Beach State Forest. We are the Friends of Point Beach State Forest, a non-profit organization formed in 1999. We are incorporated with tax-exempt status. The Friends of Point Beach is made up of members from the local communities surrounding the forest, as well as individuals, families, and organizations that wish to preserve the natural beauty of Point Beach State Forest for generations to come. The forest is open year round. Day use areas are open from 6 am to 11 pm daily.
