From our front porch. November 11, 2010. The Glorious World of Coffee: Make Your Own Flavorings. Posted by thefrontporch under food. My coffee journey began when I was 20 years old and living in Madrid. I remember when my friends and I first arrived there for our study abroad semester, we thought it was so weird that lunch was two hours long. What do you do for two hours on your lunch break? 1 cup Sugar (Regular White or Raw). 1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract. December 9, 2010 at 10:11 am. Fill in your details...

When the air turns crisp, all I can think about are Saturday mornings. I love fall Saturday mornings in Atlanta. The air is crisp, the sky the perfect shade of blue, and Atlantans are out and about, enjoying it all. Tell me you don't love these. Each about a quarter a piece. Adorable plates. 8 for $2 bucks. 8211; Tea cups...

From our front porch. September 26, 2010. Fall is in the Air. Posted by thefrontporch under Uncategorized. So excited to post some adorable quilted pieces my grandmother and great aunt made. They live in Eden, New York and quilt. These pieces just posted to Etsy are Halloween-themed and feature little witches with dangly legs. The legs add a whimsical feel to the quilts. Oh fall, hurry up and come! View them in my shop HERE. 2 Responses to “Fall is in the Air”. September 26, 2010 at 9:46 pm.

From our front porch. September 2, 2010. Beltline Bike Shop Enters the Handmade World. Posted by thefrontporch under Uncategorized. We have been having some fun with what’s known as eco-friendly handmade goods lately around the bike shop. One day on the porch, as some of the boys were sorting through a huge bin of old tubes we have, Tim had the idea of making a belt out of a bicycle inner tube. PS I’m wearing one right now. Changing the ‘hood, one belt at a time. September 2, 2010. The Master Recipe: Bou...

Friday, September 30, 2011. I "Heart" Calloway Gardens. These garden's have become home to many fun and deeply treasured family memories. It really is so peaceful here. Beauty is around every corner, and honestly Autumn with all its glorious treasures (like Mums! Has made it one of my favorite times of year here! Sommer Days: June 2012
http://sommerdays.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 25, 2012. Daytona: Vacation Day #3. We were undeterred though, and pressed forward and I'm so glad we did. It was so good to see Car and give the kids some time to play together at the beach. We all agree seeing each other so infrequently is a crime, and we are hoping to make another weekend trip down before the summer is out. Hopefully that will happen. The kids had a blast and it was fun to have a bit of beach time before heading to meet the cousins in Calloway. Sunday, June 24, 2012.
Sommer Days: Pinterest Dessert Recipe!
http://sommerdays.blogspot.com/2012/09/was-going-to-pinterest-craft-night-with.html
Thursday, September 20, 2012. So I have to admit, when I first got onto Pinterest, the above cartoon was EXACTLY how I felt. And when I first saw this cartoon, I laughed out loud. Couldn't help myself really. More pics to come on the finished project later! Each of us are supposed to bring a snack or dessert of some kind. I decided since I have a "board" full of decadent delights, it only seemed right to try a recipe I actually found on Pinterest! Sofi gave it a two thumbs up! Nate licked his plate clean!

Sunday, October 30, 2011. The crazy pumpkin carver. Saturday, October 29, 2011. Cari on top of the world with her trusty camera as a shield from my camera! We've already gotten the sneak peak of our family shoot and I have to say I am in love with the way she captured our family with the few that I saw. You can check out her work and our family shoot here. She is so talented! These were taken early Saturday morning as we got started in a local park. The fog coming off the lake was beautiful! I was thrill...
Sommer Days: May 2012
http://sommerdays.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 20, 2012. I had a friend once tell me that she believed that the issues we deal with in life, those deep heart issues, are more like onions then mountains to be climbed and conquered. There are layers, that God needs to cut and peel back away through our life till there is nothing left but Him. In recent weeks I've watched as the Lord has deftly walked me through different hard situations and circumstances. The trigger points that have forced me to face the hidden places in my heart. ...One o...

Monday, September 24, 2012. Sunday, September 23, 2012. The other day Ray surprised me with this little find he rescued from the side of the road. It was in need of a good scrub down, but is in otherwise beautiful condition and. It looks perfect on our front porch. With the arrival of cool mornings, it has become the perfect quiet place to sit and drink my morning coffee while having my quiet time. Sighit is the epitome of happiness for me. Is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He leads me beside quiet waters,.
Sommer Days: July 2012
http://sommerdays.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 28, 2012. Today I read a devotional by Oswald Chambers (you can read it here. Sold out, live fearless, trust in Him no matter the cost journey. It's really about my willingness to listen and obey no matter what, knowing He has a plan bigger then I can often see. Do I trust Him regardless of life feeling smooth and easy? Can I trust Him in the storms, when waves of being misunderstood and feelings of failure overwhelm me? Persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;. That I...

Wednesday, August 29, 2012. Back to Life.Back to Reality. We just recently learned that one of our family passes gets us into all sorts of fun places thanks to a "shared membership" program! One of these places is the Botanical Gardens. We are so excited to have new places to explore! So we are back into "Fall Schedule" mode, even though it still feels like the middle of summer here in the south. I can not tell you how ready I am for the cool temps, and jean and flip flop weather! At InCourage was full o...
Sommer Days: February 2012
http://sommerdays.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 18, 2012. With rain threatening the forecast for most of the weekend, yesterday evening we decided to get outside to play in the spring like weather! It really was absolutely beautiful and I'm loving that the days are slowly adding daylight. The kids had a lot of fun with Daddy, and they learned all about football, baseball and how to dodge a dog with an obsession for soccer balls. We shall see. I look forward to the day my pictures resemble what I see in my head! The week went by fast...

Welcome to our Extraordinary Ordinary
To my thousands of followers (or the three of you left),. Maybe I'll go back to that original way of journaling.the one that involves paper and pen ;). Lockheed Martin had its Christmas party for the supervisors. It was fun with games, prizes and delicious food. I made an Oreo cheesecake-cake to bring along and it was absolutely delicious. We won't talk about the battle that me and said cake had. All I'll say is this; it was viciously bloody but make no mistake, I came out the victor. December 18, 2014.
