From the Compost Heap

From the Compost Heap. Saturday, March 1, 2014. Winter has come and gone. I think we harvested around 30 tangerines from our tree before the really bad weather came resulting in an ice storm in Florida. Sometime during the winter I began to notice a foul smell, reminiscent of decaying flesh. Some of you already know what I'm talking about . . . Dead Man's Finger! This is actually a fungus called Octopus Stinkhorn or Clathrus Columnatus. The peas were sprouting within a week . . . To this . . . Saturday, ...

From the Compost Heap: January 2013

http://www.fromthecompostheap.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

From the Compost Heap. Thursday, January 31, 2013. Things are very green at the Compost Heap! The lettuce just keeps on growing and growing. If I could just eat lettuce for every meal every day, I would be in business (and I would lose a few pounds)! The peas have lots of blossoms, but I don't know what the yield will be . . . or when they will be ready. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Watermark template. Powered by Blogger.

From the Compost Heap: Seeds

From the Compost Heap. Tuesday, May 28, 2013. Which will come in handy if Chinese restaurants have a Bok Choy shortage in 2014. Well, I didn't seem to learn my lesson because this time I let my Dill go to seed (pretty flowers by the way). So I'm watching the flowers to see when the seeds will be ready so I can harvest them. Did I mention I don't have a clue what I'm doing? I let it go to seed! But the leaves still smell good). May 29, 2013 at 6:32 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

From the Compost Heap: May 2011

http://www.fromthecompostheap.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

From the Compost Heap. Monday, May 23, 2011. The farm is going along well. I have a list of work that needs to be done to prepare the area for next year's expansion, but I can only do it early in the morning or late in the afternoon on account of the heat. I had a list of random thoughts with no cohesive topic hence this miscellaneous blog. I have found several of these centipede things living deep in the dirt. Again, I don't know if they are good or bad or benign, but I don't trust them. My soil is not ...

Anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow. Will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Although, these scriptures will give you peace (when you receive them) for all your concerns, they can also come across cold and churchy at times too.
