From There to Here: March 2014

From There to Here. From Canada to Gabon to Norway to United Arab Emirates - - blogging my way through life overseas. Thursday, 13 March 2014. Although they all have now left the city. I later made a comment to Joe that this must be telling of my age - the party atmosphere of a city is no longer on my radar. As usual, we spent the weekend walking. We lucked out in that Amsterdam was experiencing unseasonably warm temperatures. ( It got to 18 degrees C on Sunday! Amsterdam was both exactly as I pictured y...

From There to Here. From Canada to Gabon to Norway to United Arab Emirates - - blogging my way through life overseas. Thursday, 29 January 2015. Every once in awhile I'd see comments on posts featuring books a long the lines of, ' Oh I love that you read so much. I'm a Mom to a baby boy and I just don't have time for books anymore. It's been quite awhile since I've done a Recent Reads. All the Light We Cannot See. I know what you're thinking… another WWII story Jay? Anne Lamott is a fairly well known aut...

From There to Here. From Canada to Gabon to Norway to United Arab Emirates - - blogging my way through life overseas. Monday, 28 April 2014. Italy has always been near the top of our travel list, particularly when we moved to Europe, but we always felt it needed to be done slowly. While there are cities that would make great weekend trips, we wanted to tackle Italy as we had done Spain. It made perfect sense to schedule in Italy. I had been to Italy before - I was 16, the lira. April 11 through 14. Hotel...

From There to Here. From Canada to Gabon to Norway to United Arab Emirates - - blogging my way through life overseas. Our Favourite Venetian Experiences. Wednesday, 20 August 2014. While Venice may be known for hoards and hoards of tourists crowding St Mark's Square and expensive gondola rides, it's not that difficult to find unique experiences to take in the floating city. I've touted Context Travel. It did not disappoint. Taking in the Views from San Giorgio Maggiore. Have you been to Venice? We ponder...

From There to Here. From Canada to Gabon to Norway to United Arab Emirates - - blogging my way through life overseas. Monday, 13 April 2015. Croatia has been at the top of our travel list for quite some time. It seemed that every person we spoke to who had travelled there, raved about it. We heard that it was beautiful, reasonably priced and the people were welcoming and friendly. It was certainly all of that and more. Somewhere along the A1. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hudson & Olivia: Camping

http://hudsonandolivia.blogspot.com/2013/08/camping.html

Friday, August 23, 2013. The past weekend was glorious for camping with temps sitting in the high 20’s, few clouds in the sky and just enough of a breeze to whisk the sweet freshness of the Canadian Rockies across your face. The kids and I jumped aboard the trailer and set out for some fun. After only 10 minutes in the pool a kid (not mine) vomited everywhere from drinking the pool water and we all had to evacuate … $20 down the drain … the pool drain . Hudson & Olivia: me

http://hudsonandolivia.blogspot.com/p/about-me.html

I'm Lindsay, a single mama of two. I'm a dance teacher by trade, but have been working a number (variety) of jobs the past couple years to provide the very best for my kids. Here is my journey as I navigate through the bumpy roads of single-hood as well as share the wonderfully amazing experiences and joys of finding myself again. Thanks for following along! Hudson & Olivia: new year, new beginnings

http://hudsonandolivia.blogspot.com/2014/01/new-year-new-beginnings.html

Saturday, January 4, 2014. New year, new beginnings. It has been a long time since I have posted in this blog. Not such a bad thing as my life has been filled to the brim… with mostly good things. I have continued on this journey of discovering new aspects about myself, about life, about people, about God. I don’t know what it is about new years and why we take so much time to reflect on the past year, when we have the ability to reflect at any point in time. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Hudson & Olivia: A Day With My Dad

http://hudsonandolivia.blogspot.com/2013/08/when-i-moved-back-home-last-year-i.html

Monday, August 12, 2013. A Day With My Dad. Cancer is scary stuff and even when they are doing well, it's still really hard on the patient, and also difficult on the family. I have watched both my parents struggle over the last year but am happy to say that my dad has been so strong and is fighting his battle well! 8220;Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you”. Hudson & Olivia: July 2013

http://hudsonandolivia.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

Sunday, July 28, 2013. It has been two years and two months since I have been a single mom. It has definitely had its ups and downs, most of the time complete release, freedom and happiness but also moments of loneliness, frustration and heartache. Their dad and I don’t get along which makes it all the more difficult dropping them off to him, but I try to put our differences aside and take a deep breath, and remind myself that they love him and deserve to have him in their lives. Sometimes it takes every...

http://hudsonandolivia.blogspot.com/2013/07/summer-holidays.html

Thursday, July 25, 2013. I picked up my kids on Friday (July 19. And we headed straight up to Edmonton, AB to visit my sissy and enjoy some MUCH NEEDED family time with her, my bro-in-law and the most adorable little niece around. Our four days were filled with fun! Hudson & Olivia: in need of an adventure

http://hudsonandolivia.blogspot.com/2013/08/itsrainy-and-dreary-outside-today-which.html

Tuesday, August 6, 2013. In need of an adventure. It’s rainy and dreary outside today which makes me just slump down in my chair, wishing I was curled up at home… in my bed… with a pot of tea. sigh. But since I’m not and I’ve been daydreaming of my next travel quest, here are my top three ADVENTURE destinations. The Glowworm Caves of New Zealand – seriously this looks amazing. I’ve been caving before (which I loved) and these caves sound incredible. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Day With My Dad.

The art of doing nothing in London - Expat Edna

http://expatedna.com/2014/08/28/the-art-of-doing-nothing-in-london

Travel food photography serial expat blog. The art of doing nothing in London. August 28, 2014. There’s not much to say about the art of doing nothing. It’s pretty much one step, self-explanatory: do nothing. Whatever your definition of ‘nothing’ may be — do it. Or don’t. It’s your art. It’s also possibly due to the fact that every time I visit England, the weather is gorgeous. Blue skies, warm temperatures; the kind of weather that causes every British friend to swear,. It’s never like this. Then some m...

From There to Here and Here to There

From There to Here and Here to There. Funny things are everywhere! Monday, June 4, 2012. Happiness Through My Dog's Eyes. Well, I guess it’s about time for my mid-year blog post. As you’ve probably already guessed, my day-to-day life is still about as boring as it was before. I’m still working a lot, and my life still revolves around my cozy little house and my sweet little dog, Colby. There have been a few highlights amidst the boredom, though. And officially entering my late-20’s in March:. Back at the...

Mecemos caderas liberadas,. Y brillan nuestros ojos,. La lluvia está en nuestros labios,. No corremos para ganar victorias. No sabemos en quién confiamos. Ni hacia donde nos dirigimos,.
