From the Sheepshed: Provision and Busy-ness
http://fromthesheepshed.blogspot.com/2015/02/provision-and-busy-ness.html
I will lie down and sleep in peace. Saturday, February 14, 2015. I am writing this in retrospect: Case-in-point. A Monday morning on the third day of June. Summer has finally shown up and the tourists and cottage residents are arriving in fits and starts. After a winter of almost no work, I have finally been able to get a job at a local retail store that is. A family run business. There are a number of stores throughout the state and it is considered a Maine Adventure to pass through it's doors. To make ...
From the Sheepshed: November 2011

I will lie down and sleep in peace. Saturday, November 5, 2011. The Voice of the Shepherd. On my first trip to Israel in 2006, perspective was transfused into my lifeblood. I went in fear, trepidation, and curiosity. It had never occurred to me to want travel to this place of emotional turmoil , holy that it is. In God's timing, seeds of change took place; new roots started to grow. My heart turned. I got there. I think I flew. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Searchlight - Jon Courson. Early Light- Bob Cull.

I will lie down and sleep in peace. Sunday, February 15, 2015. I love chickadees. They are such brave little souls, as are all of the other birds that brave these cold Maine winters. They gather around the feeders and put such a cheerful face on things as the cold weather seems as though it will never end. They are the picture of what God says in Matthew 6:25-34. 8220;Therefore I tell you, do not worry. Are you not much more valuable than they? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). From the Sheepshed: A Bit of a Day
http://fromthesheepshed.blogspot.com/2015/03/a-bit-of-day.html
I will lie down and sleep in peace. Thursday, March 5, 2015. A Bit of a Day. Today I have had to remind myself of all that I have to be thankful for. Actually, the longer this winter goes on, it seems that I need to be reminded a thousand times a day. What is it about us that loves to cater to these great inner pity parties? Do I wake up in the morning wondering if today is the day my village will be invaded and destroyed? That I may loose my head for loving and following Jesus? John 3:17 For God did not...

Our Vintage Villa: March 2016
http://ourvintagevilla.blogspot.com/2016/03
Renovation of a 1970 Mobile Home. Thursday, March 3, 2016. One year ago, on the day after Valentine's Day, I slipped going down my porch steps and broke my left ankle in three places. It's hard to believe that a year has gone by; this winter has been mild, and snow-free for the most part. It's always a wonder to me how the winters can differ to such an extent, but El Nino , I love you. (Sorry, no squiggle over the n). See My Little Land Yacht for that story.). Our Vintage Villa: In Comes the Arctic
http://ourvintagevilla.blogspot.com/2015/01/in-comes-arctic.html
Renovation of a 1970 Mobile Home. Wednesday, January 14, 2015. In Comes the Arctic. Here it is. The first days of real winter finally hitting. After such horrendous snow last year, we have had a really mild time of it this year, so far. The last two nights have been brutal; sub zero and windy. We had a nice time, got home and settled in for a quiet New Years Eve. We actually stayed awake until midnight. :-) All was well with our little world. Sohere we are. It came in at nine below zero last night...

Our Vintage Villa: Before: The Exterior
http://ourvintagevilla.blogspot.com/p/the-befores.html
Renovation of a 1970 Mobile Home. We purchased our "Villa" in October of this year, and it was a complete wreck. As I said earlier,. Our main goal was to just get it livable for the winter, which comes on fairly quickly and lasts for too many months here in the Northeast; Maine to be exact. We had to pick our battles for now. The from steps are solid, just needing a new coat of paint. All of the outside cosmetic painting we will save for the warm weather. Junk everywhere. Again, the deck is almost ne...
Our Vintage Villa: February 2015
http://ourvintagevilla.blogspot.com/2015/02
Renovation of a 1970 Mobile Home. Thursday, February 12, 2015. We have debated what kind of look that we want to go for as we go forward with our renovation. To me, since I grew up in the seventies, the time wasn't so bad, but the avocado green and gold I can live without. I have always been pretty conservative with wall colors and tend toward natural fiber colors (whited, off-whites) for most of my color schemes. I live in New England, so I love that eclectic 1700-1800's farm furniture look. I guess tha...
Our Vintage Villa: No More Snow!
http://ourvintagevilla.blogspot.com/2015/02/no-more-snow.html
Renovation of a 1970 Mobile Home. Friday, February 6, 2015. I guess that I am getting old and grumpy, but when the snow is up to my waist (and I'm not short) I am about done. I have been reading a lot of different blogs, trying to get ideas, to see what is appealing to people and I admit: I can get lost in it all and never get my own writing done. But oh.to go to worlds that are warm. :-) Bit by bit, I am adding links to blogs that I think others will enjoy. Labels: day to day. From the Sheep Shed.
Our Vintage Villa: Before: The Interior
http://ourvintagevilla.blogspot.com/p/before-interior.html
Renovation of a 1970 Mobile Home. As I said on the previous page, the place was a filthy mess from the previous owner, who left as much stuff behind as they took with them when they left. The first thing we had to do is get rid of the fleas before we even attempted to start removing things, especially the carpets. I had already removed the carpets and trashed items before I took the pictures, for the most part. Sub-floor turned out to be in good shape under the carpet. Lots of washing with bleach. Furnit...

Thoughts from the Sheepfold
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. Life in the Atrium. Monday, October 13, 2014. Making Connections: The Fettuccia. On Sunday in the True Vine Atrium we went downstairs to unroll the Fettuccia. We gather for this presentation every year, and much of our work in the atrium for the first through third grade child connects to this impressionistic lesson. You can read about this presentation in the blog post The Fettuccia. Saturday, March 8, 2014. Farewell to the A-word! Last Sunday we bid farewell to our old ...

I will lie down and sleep in peace. Monday, February 15, 2016. Today's Love Note: Isaiah 58:10-11. And if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,. Then your light will shine in the darkness, and your night will become like noonday. The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. Sunday, February 14, 2016. I look at al...

Hidden chapters of my life. Sunday, January 30, 2011. Song of my life. But not for me. They're writing songs of love, but not for me. A lucky star's above, but not for me. With love to lead the way. I've found more clouds of grey. Than any Russian play could guarantee. I was a fool to fall and get that way;. And also, lack-a-day! Although I can't dismiss the mem'ry of his kiss,. I guess he's not for me. He's knocking on a door, but not for me. He'll plan a two by four, but not for me. I'm all at sea.

From the Ships Helm. Tuesday, January 28, 2014. The year 2013 in Review. Some one once wrote, "Where to begin? Start at the beginning and go to the end." Probably good advice. But anyone who knows me knows that I am not likely to follow advice. So we'll start at the end and work backwards through the year! Christmas found us in the Caribbean.
