Gail Ellspermann: Mountains of magazines....
http://gailellspermann.blogspot.com/2013/11/mountains-of-magazines.html
A peek inside my creative journey. Sunday, November 3, 2013. I love magazines and subscribe to a rediculous number of them that cover a wide range of subjects - fashion, quilting, flowers, mixed media, dolls, sewing, health - the list goes on. I try to read them as they come in because they can accumulate into big piles really fast. One of the things I enjoy about magazines is feeling free to tear. One thing I love to do is make collages of my torn pages. I make them in color schemes, filling in area...
Gail Ellspermann: September 2012
http://gailellspermann.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
A peek inside my creative journey. Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Me and my big ideas! We have been hard at work for more than a week on "Operation Organization" - we had a good plan in place and were off and running. I needed some new shelving so we made two trips to Ikea (New Haven, CT and Paramus, NJ - good thing I live in the middle) and two to Home Depot. I love the value of "self-assembled" furniture and shelving but that stuff is HEAVY! Which led to the "Who brought all this stuff into the house?
Gail Ellspermann: August 2012
http://gailellspermann.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
A peek inside my creative journey. Sunday, August 26, 2012. A great studio weekend. It has been a while since I have had a free weekend. On Friday, I decided that this weekend would be all studio time - something I've been missing! I decided on the photo for the quilt inspired by Jean Wells' book, "Journey to Inspired Art Quilting". I took this picture in Bermuda, while my sister, Leslie, and I were walking to the "sea glass" beach in St. George's. Here is the scenic shot I stopped to take:. I've found s...
Gail Ellspermann: I'm exhausted but at least I'm organized!
http://gailellspermann.blogspot.com/2012/10/im-exhausted-but-at-least-im-organized.html
A peek inside my creative journey. Friday, October 26, 2012. I'm exhausted but at least I'm organized! Operation Organization turned out to be a bigger project than I realized! The smartest thing I did for the project was enlist the help of my sister, Valerie. Thanks for your help, sister! My studio space is about 25' long by 13' wide I've divided it up into several work areas so it is tough to get a good "overall" photo so I'll show it to you in sections. Under the window I have my bead cart (from Dick ...

http://notesfromnorma.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Please click on the tabs for work, bio and extra features. Monday, June 29, 2015. All of my publicity paid off and the reception was very crowded. For the first hour and a half it was wall to wall people. I was losing my voice from talking so much, meeting old and new friends, explaining pieces and techniques. Beautiful arrangements gracing my home thanks to out of town relatives. Out of town relatives. Part of the crowd scene. Explaining how I did it. When we were hanging the show on Thursday they asked...

FiberArt Northeast: July 2010
http://fiberartnortheast.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 4, 2010. An Arty Play Day. Back in May, our group sponsored an Arty Play Day for interested and available members. It was held in a local high school's chemistry lab, which was perfect - running water and indestructible surfaces. We had plenty of room to spread out and everyone worked on their own project/process for the day. It was fantastic and we all got a lot done while having a great time. Joyce prepared to wet-felt some fibers together. Barbara tried her hand at shaving cream marbling.

FiberArt Northeast: Architectural Elements at Etui
http://fiberartnortheast.blogspot.com/2014/04/architectural-elements-at-etui.html
Monday, April 14, 2014. Architectural Elements at Etui. It would carry some fabrics, yarns and other fiber related items and would have a small gallery in front. It sounded perfect. And it was! We decided on the theme of Architectural Elements and the size was restricted to 14" wide by no more than 20" high. There would also be some pedestals and some members opted to make freestanding pieces that would fit into narrow wooden stands. Here are the quilts, in no particular order:. Rapunzel by Sonia Rieber.

Notes from Norma: Quilted and Bound
http://notesfromnorma.blogspot.com/2015/08/quilted-and-bound.html
Please click on the tabs for work, bio and extra features. Saturday, August 1, 2015. Here are the three 12 x 12's that I showed you last week, now quilted and bound. I did a combination of straight line quilting with the walking foot and free-motion quilting in angular designs. I still have to mount them on their black background, but that will be later. I am especially liking the yellow one and think I may make a big quilt. I need to get more Dupioni silks since I am running low. View my complete profile.
