Empty space to edible place. Creating an edible garden with no experience. Empty space to edible place. Cluck, cluck, cluck. Just like Oma made – Rosella Jam. April 21, 2014. When I was growing up, one of my favourite things was homemade rosella jam. The amazing jam that only had three ingredients: rosellas, sugar and water. My rosella bushes were so heavy with fruit that their branches could no longer support their weight. Tomorrow I will find out how the jam went. This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

https://thebountifulbroad.wordpress.com/2015/03/01/strength-to-stand-easy-8-step-fix-for-seedlings-falling-over
Sustainable living in the city. Strength To Stand: Easy 8-step fix for seedlings falling over. Falling over is not the same as wilting. With wilting, the entire seedling looks unhealthy, yellow, or withered leaves. Here’s an easy fix:. Get some drinking straws, measure the stem height, and cut a piece to fit. Cut down the side of the straw with scissors. Open the straw and attach to the stem. Push the end of the straw down into the soil. Gather some soil around the base of the straw to hold it in place.

Garden Great in Zone 8! Laquo; Freeze Warning! On April 20, 2014. We survived last week’s frost warning and rain and made it to Easter! Though the day started out chilly and gray, the afternoon could not have been more beautiful. After I worked the early shift for the mission trip pancake breakfast, attended an excellent Easter service at The Ridge. And took a walk with my trusty Great Dane Clementine, I headed outside to spend a lovely day in the yard. My First Peony Blossom. April 21, 2014 at 1:43 am.

Sustainable living in the city. Bread Plain ol’ white sandwich loaf. Plain ol’ white sandwich loaf. My bread making journey began with a Christmas gift- a Zojirushi. Bread machine. I loved how you could simply dump all of the ingredients into the machine and push a button. Three hours later, you have bread! What I didn’t like about it was the crust. The outside of the bread was so crunchy, it was hard to slice and hard to eat. Then one day, it gave me uglyloaf. Oh no, you didn’t. Here’s how I did it.

The other day, I saw an ad in the newspaper and the decorated tree in the ad had a chain link garland made out of none other than FELT. What you’ll need:. Not to bad...

Here I Am Again. It’s been 10 months since my last. Blog post. That post so long ago was all about admitting I couldn’t do it on my own. I had been off medication for anxiety/depression for a short time and knew I needed it again. I was conflicted about the decision. But I had made a promise to myself that I would ask for help if I ever saw the warning signs again. My anxiety at that time was so high. I was always agitated. In fact I’d bet money that restarting my medication saved me from:. You are comme...

Gardener in the Distance...gardening and belonging in Ballarat.
Sunday, July 5, 2015. Thermal and Not so Thermal. Here I am wrapped up in my cloaks, cold itself. Well, no. I'd got out on my bicycle today to the Ballarat Botanical Gardens in a sudden and unexpected blaze of winter sunshine. Here you're looking out from the Gardens across Lake Wendouree. Winter's an honest time. There's no dodging the fact significant signs of life have vanished. And yet, significant signs of life are surfacing. Bravo, Hercules, I say. And another. This is winter?
