Thursday, March 19, 2015. Cindy found some old photo albums and among the photos was this great photo from around Christmas, 1970 taken at her paternal grandparents house in Pitman, NJ. Christmas can be a very busy time and Deb and Jeff were just tuckered out. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Mid-Hudson Migrant Education Tutorial Support Services. Gateway's First Four Years. Remembering Debbie: December 2008
http://rememberingdebbie.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 24, 2008. To say that Debbie loved Christmas would be a huge understatement. She knew all the Christmas carols and could sing them from memory and on key. She was in the church choir when she was younger and enjoyed practicing for Christmas and performing at the Christmas services. Mom loved Christmas, too, and they would always find some FM radio station that would play Christmas music constantly for all of Christmas Eve, if not more. Yep - for Deb Christmas was special. My father's ...

Remembering Debbie: March 2009
http://rememberingdebbie.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 17, 2009. Deb's PopPop Sam, A Railroad Man. Deb's maternal Grandfather, Samuel Dare Estilow, worked for The Central Railroad Company of New Jersey for a number of years. A crippling accident where his lower leg got crushed in the coupling of two freight cars ended his days as a brakeman. The injuries were severe and the danger of gangrene setting in was great but he wouldn't hear of amputation. He kept the leg but never walked well again. Links to this post. Friday, March 13, 2009. Remembering Debbie: January 2009
http://rememberingdebbie.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 22, 2009. At MomMom and PopPop's in Pitman. Recently I found some photos from Pitman, NJ. Deb had a birthday party, took care of her dolls, including bathing them and played on the sidewalk. I don't know who the boy her age was but I am the little blonde boy. The grandfatherly looking gentleman is PopPop Ernie Thomas. He was a good grandfather to us and spent a lot of time with us. Links to this post. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Maddox Corner: March 2009

Small Town Childhood Memories of the 50s and 60s. Wednesday, March 11, 2009. My brother is eight years old now, and I don't think he believes in Santa anymore. He tells me he knows where Mom and Dad are hiding some of our presents. He's a spoilsport, and I tell him I don't want to know, I want to be surprised. Carl taunts me by constantly telling me he knows what I'm getting, and I try not to listen to him. Alright, I give in, I can't take it anymore. "Show me," I tell him. I tear myself away from the bo...

Maddox Corner: September 2008
http://maddoxcorner.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Small Town Childhood Memories of the 50s and 60s. Saturday, September 27, 2008. The Fourth Grade year is coming to an end. Before it’s over another American goes into space. On May 24th astronaut Scott Carpenter takes off from Cape Canaveral. He lifts off on a Thursday morning before eight o’clock, so I get to see the blast-off before I go to school. I forget about Wee Willie Webber and cartoons today, I’m watching a real space man leave the earth! I’m still getting crew-cuts; my ill-fated attempt ...

http://maddoxcorner.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Small Town Childhood Memories of the 50s and 60s. Tuesday, January 29, 2008. Second Grade would be over soon. Summer vacation was fast approaching, and I'd be saying goodbye to Mrs. Lamson, relieved that my tenure with her was over. I'd be saying goodbye to my classmates Richie, Tommy, Joyce, Ann and Don and all the others until September rolled around. But would I really see them again, or would I be put into the "other" third grade class? How was it decided? I would spend the summer hoping and praying ...
