Torpish: Having a Second Life?!
http://torpish.blogspot.com/2010/02/having-second-life.html
View my complete profile. Saturday, February 27, 2010. Having a Second Life? OK, so I think its cool. No, I have never used Second Life, but who doesn't want to go to a virtual island? But, my questions revolve around the use of Second Life in education. This didn't happen to me until I came to grad school. Someone, please agree with me on this next issue! How is one supposed to learn the steps in statistics. Via PowerPoint. I can tell you friends, it wasn't easy. Sometimes technology hinders our learning.

Penny For Your Thoughts?: I Feel the Pressure
http://jodiannflynn.blogspot.com/2010/02/i-feel-pressure.html
Penny For Your Thoughts? Sunday, February 28, 2010. I Feel the Pressure. I must say that Lessig is an incredible speaker! I really liked how his slides were in sync with his speech. But, of course, the most important thing was his content. I liked the fact that he spoke highly of today's generation and their use of the internet and media. Who would have thought that this generation is better at disbelief and triangulation? I'm not too sure how I feel about this. But, what I need to do is to make sure...

View my complete profile. Saturday, January 30, 2010. Just For The Sake Of An Argument. I'm in a sorta disagreement with myself. Not like a terrible fight or anything. My two sides are just having a discussion. The discussion in my head starts like this:. Social marketing has revolutionized advertising! Remember, when you worked at Brighton. And they didn't have a Facebook page, a blog or a MySpace? And all your hopes will be dashed! From a good source and everything. Take that! It makes it much easier t...

bloecher: Big Brother is watching you...but who is watching big brother?
http://julie-bloecher.blogspot.com/2010/02/big-brother-is-watching-youbut-who-is.html
Blog for Social Networking, Social Media, and Web 2.0 class. Sunday, February 14, 2010. Big Brother is watching you.but who is watching big brother? I have always had mixed feelings about sharing information about me- whether it's personal details on a product registration survey, home phone number (it's unlisted, so that rarely happens), or my position. I guess I was just not sure (other than looking up a restaurant when I'm out and about) that I could see a measurable benefit. Too much of a good thing ...

Torpish: Eternal Internet
http://torpish.blogspot.com/2010/02/eternal-internet.html
View my complete profile. Sunday, February 21, 2010. So, I love this lecture by Lawrence Lessig. In case you don't know about it, click here. Most of you won't watch it, it is long, but if you are ever stuck inside on a rainy Saturday, it will be worth it. This idea that data lives forever on the internet is disturbing for me. Yes, yes, I'll be so happy to look up my blog in 30 years and remember this post. He's in prison, paying fines, getting help, repenting for his sins. I'll just point you here.

Torpish: My Thought or Your Thought?
http://torpish.blogspot.com/2010/01/my-thought-or-your-thought.html
View my complete profile. Saturday, January 23, 2010. My Thought or Your Thought? I just have to start out by saying what is really the difference between 1 individual and a group? I get it. One starts with 'I' and the other with 'G', but they are both Nouns, unless I am incorrect and my grammar has gotten worse since Elementary school. Totally possible. A group really is just a bunch of individual together. Do they really have different ideas and mentalities? You'll be much happier! I agree w/ Bloecher ...

Torpish: Oh How I've Missed You
http://torpish.blogspot.com/2010/02/oh-how-ive-missed-you.html
View my complete profile. Saturday, February 13, 2010. Oh How I've Missed You. Mobile marketing, how I have missed you. In my previous job, I had this great idea and that was mobile marketing. Yes, what a great, innovative idea for a ski resort. We can offer all of our customers up-to-date information about snow, events, specials, yeah! I was stoked, of course, it was my idea. Well, hate to tell you friends (and myself ouch! Expense- is mobile marketing really worth it? As you can image, this wasn't my b...

Penny For Your Thoughts?: Ugly Reality
http://jodiannflynn.blogspot.com/2010/02/ugly-reality.html
Penny For Your Thoughts? Saturday, February 27, 2010. I got a head start before most of you guys. I got a chance to experience Second Life. This concept of a virtual world really intrigued me. It was fun to choose a pseudo name, cools clothes, fly and to visit different worlds. But for me, that gets old after a while. That’s the major thing – a way of escape. They are faced with the same reality. Their reality didn’t change or get any better. This blog inspired by:. February 27, 2010 at 11:50 PM. I think...
