In the meantime…. This is the first color I’ve seen at sunset since my return to Yarnell almost two weeks ago. That’s because the wonderful fall skies have been a typical cloudless brilliant blue so sunset has been uneventful. But I knew when these crazy bunch of clouds began to glow as the sun retreated below the ridge that a show was forthcoming. Then the first color was rather subdued although nicely accenting the gossamer clouds. Followed by, low and behold, an eruption of rays. October 24, 2013.

And during August monsoons that can mean a stormy drive with the sky an ever changing show. Along the Painted Desert I can see a storm coming from far away. And of course I see the storm while it’s dumping on me. Still rather gray approaching the Vermilion and Echo Cliffs. A dry stop at Navajo Bridge shows more storm across the sky.

Monday, April 6, 2015. Brittlebush is a common desert shrub that gets the name because its stems can break off easily. It's in the same family as the sunflower. Have a wonderful week! They are not one of my favorite plants/flowers. After they bloom I always have the gardener cut all the dead foliage down to the ground around my home. Saturday, June 20, 2015. Last month my husband discovered a hummingbird nest on an oleander bush that he was about to trim. In the meantime…. Fun drive to town and new laptop. Who would have thought a drive to town would be so cool. Literally, it was cold, snowy, and spectacular driving through Zion. It was also cool that I was able to trade in two old laptops for a $200 credit towards the new ASUS laptop I bought. Windows 10 seems OK so far. Sure beats the pants off 8.
