studionumbersix: BACK BERLIN
http://studionumbersix.blogspot.com/2012/04/back-berlin.html
Saturday saw the 2012 Grand National at Aintree and the finish of our Back Berlin project. Alas, we had money on 'Weird Al' who ran an o.k. race, but fell at fence number 27 and was injured. Neptune Collognes won by a whisker, (the first grey to do so since 1961) in a thrilling race. Thanks Marjorie Hugh for the loan of this little three-piece indian puzzle as a visual aid. Have we cracked it? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Mr and Mrs Gren. Simple template. Powered by Blogger.

The Island (Made in Berlin). Hello We are so very for breaking our promise to update and post while in Berlin working on our book project,. At Enblanco. We have failed. Sorry. While finding ourselves computer-less, we did manage to take plenty of snaps and some film, so there is evidence. Cases (Amazing colour) before hand trimming every book. It was tough old work and we had a few hairy moments when we thought it wouldn't be done, but we ended up editioning the last few books as the gallery doors we...

studionumbersix: September 2011
http://studionumbersix.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Yesterday we silkscreened the single prints for our book:. Each book will come with a limited edition print, black acrylic on watercolour paper, with hand spot-colouring. George's image will be finished with Rose-scented ink and mine will be done with Lavender. We're leaving them to dry for a day or so before trimming them down and adding the hand colouring. Here's some photos of the printing (thought we'd post them black and white as the prints themselves are still awaiting their colour! Dr Alan Hirsch,...

studionumbersix: January 2012
http://studionumbersix.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Back Berlin is back in the black after The Giant Bolster* won at Cheltenham yesterday. We are now a modest £2.50 up on our investment. It's not big bucks (who we'll have to support at Cheltenham in March) but it's a start. And we've made up for losses last Saturday. Thanks Harry! Incidentally, the name of a Cornish Giant, who had a six mile stride (nearly the lead this horse had on the others at the post) that allowed him to step from St.Agnes to Carn Brea. Apt. studionumbersix: The Island
http://studionumbersix.blogspot.com/2012/07/island.html
We've been home from our project in Berlin for three weeks now. Lorena has sent the screens back in batches, along with our research materials and aprons etc. and we're meeting Bettina next week to collect left-behind-sunglasses. SO. It's high time we sorted out our documentation of the whole affair. Took some brilliant photographs throughout the event, and we've put them all on a new page 'The Island' over on the right there, so click to read see all about it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

studionumbersix: August 2011
http://studionumbersix.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Henry asked us to make a poster for him to advertise celebrate the opening of the. Newlyn School of Art. He wanted us to incorporate a sort of manifesto for the school - our favourite phrase from which is 'Be Artful'. We screen-printed 150 small posters and 45 large ones (30 x 40cm) in two colours: black and a kind of bit-brighter-than-lulworth blue. The school opens in September - we can't wait. studionumbersix: BACK BERLIN
http://studionumbersix.blogspot.com/2012/05/back-berlin.html
ALL BETS ARE OFF! A rather belated post we know, but things all became rather manic in the lead-up and actually doing artwork for our project at Enblanco overtook posting news of our fundraising. Sorry. We can stop doing horse-racing puns now. Ride on. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Mr and Mrs Gren. Simple template. Powered by Blogger.

studionumbersix: Sponsors
http://studionumbersix.blogspot.com/2012/04/sponsors.html
We had some exciting news a fortnight ago - the paper for our projects at Enblanco, Berlin is being sponsored by GF Smith. And it arrived on Thursday! G F Smith have come up with the goods and are providing all of the paper for the books! And what mighty paper it is. We spent a glorious evening looking at all the samples, (touching them to our cheek and sniffing them too, as this has to be done) and finally decided on some of their colourplan. Thank you GF Smith. Thank you very much. Mr and Mrs Gren.
