GeraniumCat in the Garden

GeraniumCat in the Garden. Thursday, 4 June 2015. Day 4, #30dayswild. On 1 June I was in Yorkshire, and not able to write a post for this blog, but now I'm back there's a chance to catch up. Yorkshire was lovely, especially Nunnington Hall. A National Trust building with a delightful organic garden which nestles in a beautiful riverside setting. An added treat on the visit was the exhibition of 2014 British Wildlife Photography Awards. Serendipity, or what? To assuage my conscience, and will be assiduous...

GeraniumCat in the Garden: December 2010

http://geraniumcat.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

GeraniumCat in the Garden. Wednesday, 8 December 2010. I wish I could have shared with you the spectacular sight today of two cock pheasants fighting in the snow! Now that I really want to photograph the pheasants before the snow disappears, the sun probably won't shine tomorrow. But for now, at any rate, I like this picture. Posted by Jodie Robson. Thursday, 2 December 2010. Like it), they have a generous sprinkle of dried mealworms. Oh, our post has just found its way here by tractor! Travel template&#...

GeraniumCat in the Garden: May 2015

http://geraniumcat.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

GeraniumCat in the Garden. Wednesday, 27 May 2015. This June the Wildlife Trusts are running a campaign called 30 Days Wild. I decided to join in so that I could spend the month thinking about how to encourage wildlife in the garden. I'm starting by revitalising this blog (four years on! Which had anyway turned into something mostly garden- and nature-focused. It's got a bit of a new look, and a new name, GeraniumCat in the Garden (inspired, huh? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). GeraniumCat in the Garden: November 2010

http://geraniumcat.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

GeraniumCat in the Garden. Sunday, 7 November 2010. Photo taken in Rumia, Poland by Adam Kumiszcza. They're back, the fieldfares, and my heart gave a real leap when I saw them in the ash trees at the top of the garden this morning. They are much later than in some areas of the country, but I've found that to be the case every year. There will be no shortage of berries for them this year. Posted by Jodie Robson. GeraniumCat in the Garden: May 2011

http://geraniumcat.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

GeraniumCat in the Garden. Thursday, 26 May 2011. How such a tiny bundle of fluff could make such a noise I can't imagine, but the picture above does give some idea of the brilliance of his crest. In the past I've struggled to see these elusive creatures, which are more generally "sighted" by tracking their creaky tseeping cry (what Wikipedia calls "a subdued rambling sub-song" - love it! Mutterings and Meanderings: The mysterious mind of the Grey Mare

http://mutteringsandmeanderings.blogspot.com/2008/08/mysterious-mind-of-grey-mare.html

Themeless - if not seamless - observations, episodes and soapbox moments, interspersed with the occasional Paddington Bear hard stare. Sunday, August 17, 2008. The mysterious mind of the Grey Mare. I have always thought I had the Grey Mare pretty well sussed. We have a good relationship and a fabulous bond. I usually know what will worry her and what she will take in her stride. But sometimes she surprises me. I adore that wee horse! Good for you and the Mare! Did you see Mock The Week last week? Why do ...

Themeless - if not seamless - observations, episodes and soapbox moments, interspersed with the occasional Paddington Bear hard stare. Thursday, April 17, 2008. And it's goodnight from her. Regular readers will have noticed I have not been particularly blogtastic of late. A year ago, I was firing on all cylinders, enthused and eager. A year ago, I was writing for a business publisher where creativity was stifled and big words were frowned upon. Labels: taking a break. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Geranium Care - Caring For Geraniums

Geranium care is relatively simple, and that is one of the main reasons that this plant is such a popular choice for gardeners to include in their home landscaping plans. Geraniums are also highly scented, and are available with a variety of scents. When To Plant Geraniums. Proper geranium care is vital to ensure that your plants are as healthy as possible. First, it is important not to plant your geraniums too early. In order to avoid any chance of frost, ideally, mid to late May. Moving the plants insi...

Geranium Cat's Bookshelf

A Century of Books. Tuesday, 29 August 2017. Illustrators - a belated Introduction. Don't you love the horse's expression? I have started an occasional series of posts about illustrated books here. As usual, it's purely idiosyncratic and based solely on what I like myself. As a child I was always surrounded by illustration, and we had copies of various classics - for instance, the "proper" versions such as Alice. We may have the odd post which focuses on covers. To date in the series I've talked. I'm put...
