---trippinballs!!---: Varanasi
http://angieanddave.blogspot.com/2008/09/varanasi.html
Monday, September 1, 2008. In Varanasi, the most remarkable thing to see is just the way people relentlessly get along with their lives amidst all the noise, heat, hassle, death and concrete. It’s plain to see that there’s too many people there, too much stuff going on, but it all works somehow, and makes Varanasi one of the most invigorating, spirited cities I’ve ever been to. According to a magazine I was reading, 40% of Indians suffer from hypertension. It's roundabouts like these that cause it.

---trippinballs!!---: Inca Trail, day four. The Big Show
http://angieanddave.blogspot.com/2007/11/inca-trail-day-four-big-show.html
Saturday, November 3, 2007. Inca Trail, day four. The Big Show. Bleary eyed hikers in line. Machu Picchu is in there somewhere. By mid-morning the cloud had dispered and was being replaced by a fog of overweight tourists (lazy train riding cheaters.ummm.we were taught on the tour that we must loathe them). Anyway, Machu Picchu was in full sun and Puma took us on a walk through the massive site, explaining the significance of various temples, houses and stonework. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Saturday, March 8, 2008. Apart from inhaling sulfurous fumes, people climb Cerro Negro to come back down to sea level in what the tour companies promise to be an EXTREME (! The slope looked just like a regular piste, except in negative. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Just the photos, none of the guff. VOMITAR: verbo intransitivo. To vomit, be sick. ---trippinballs!!---: Laguna de Apoyo
http://angieanddave.blogspot.com/2008/03/laguna-de-apoyo.html
Sunday, March 2, 2008. La Laguna from above. Inner tubes provided flotation. Laguna de Apoyo is a large mass of preternaturally clean water cupped inside the crater of a long-dormant volcano sitting beside Lago Nicaragua. Geothermic activity beneath the 200 metre-deep lake keeps the water warmed to the perfect temperature for swimming, and we spent a few of the most pleasant days of our trip kayaking, floating on and exploring the lake and it’s surrounds. There was also lots of hammock time.

---trippinballs!!---: Dining Vegetarian in Cafayate
http://angieanddave.blogspot.com/2007/07/dining-vegetarian-in-cafayate.html
Thursday, July 12, 2007. Dining Vegetarian in Cafayate. The food arrived. The pasta was fine. The 'eggplant' was a pounded slab of veal. Around 60cm square. Angie ate a couple of pieces just to be sure, called over the waiter an he informed us that they didn't have eggplant milenesas. Chips and salad provided yet another 'meal'. As a nice coda to that unpleasantness, Angie spent the next day in bed with a suspected case of bad-veal-induced-food-poisoning. July 26, 2007 at 5:19 AM. Lima- Smells Like Tinkle.

The hotelier tried his best to make us pay less and less, but my abysmal ability to haggle assured that we paid plenty more than necessary (when we paid and he didn't have change, he finally forced us into paying less). http://angieanddave.blogspot.com/2007/07/tucuman-to-cafayate.html
Monday, July 9, 2007. The Andes from a Moving Bus 2: Tucuman to Cafayate. The most amazing four hour bus trip I've ever been on. It took us through fogged out monochromatic valleys. Into a dark yellow and white countryside where everything that should have been dark was white. And out of them again. And we ended up in a rocky, cactus infested desert. Tuesday, August 21, 2007. Puerto Lopez- Chicken is a Vegetable. Jean Claude welcomes you to the Puerto Lopez video library. Angie went flexitarian and ate some fish, while I contented myself with chips and more beer than usual. Wolfed down the sweetsweet merchandise. This is how the fishermen teach the dogs to swim. Looks like one of those caption competitions, what is the dog thinking. Oh shit" comes to mind. August 28, 2007 at 1:45 PM. Why throw the stick when you can throw the dog. The Sun Comes Out.

Click here to start at the start). 8216;Oh… is terribleh! 8217; was the disappointingly unimaginative phrase le Capitaine used to sum up our dire situation as we watched whitewash tumble into the bottom of his boat. ‘The sailing is over! 8217; he clipped. ‘The boat is finished!
