San Simeon: Hearst Castle. After we were all tired of Solvang. Souvenir shops, we headed North for our hotel in San Simeon. When we got to the hotel, Kate suggested we go to the beach for sunset and just to get some walking in after a long driving day. Look up Hearst Castle if you don't know what it is; I had no idea what it was before this trip. We have walked that black robe and tasseled walk. You'd probably think it feels the same as before (like on your birthday when you're inevitably asked if you feel a year older and you don't) and you'd be right. The exciting part: FAMILY came! Last weekend, we went on a trip with the Young Women to San Simeon and stopped off in Solvang for some culture on the way. Glen came with us so we could have the Priesthood along with Risa's dad, Bryan. Bryan takes pretty cool pictures: you can see the photos he took from our trip here. And photos in general here. FroYo 5k with the Family : 5k #9. Has been 100% my favorite so far! I was expecting a huge crowd like the bubble race, but since this was the FroYo's first year, it was a modest size and I hope it doesn't get too big. The tattoos weren't in the swag bag, they were just kind of laying around on some of the tables, so we grabbed them. We then kind of hung out in our "wave" corral for about 20 minutes. But there was a photographer roaming, so it was cool. But that doesn't matter, because check my time peeps!

We did a lot of swimming and lazing on the beach Lu,Mila and Ferne went out often on their paddleboards I even tried it myself and managed to stay upright. The following day Bid came down to Middle Lagoon and stayed for lunch It was great to catch up. Middle Lagoon is well worth the visit The sunsets in particular were as good as we have seen on our travels. Today Tim and Lu head home and we head east to Derby.
