Last week's 'group' evening ride had me on the Ridgeline Trail. In Castle Rock for the 1st time. Fun, fast and flowy, especially fast if you were in the lead group, which I definitely wasn't. Rolled out to Bailey on Saturday to volunteer for the Hundo. Slow and I rode sweep for the single-track portion of the ride - starting at west end of CT and eventually (only 2 of the group) ending at the Platte River. About 16 miles in, I felt something strange on my left shoe. This time, the entire cleat surface ha...

rockwaller Rog: February 2013
http://rockwallerrog.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
A log of the quotidian. Saturday, February 9, 2013. The call of the chukar down the coulee. We weren't hunting chukar today, but figuratively they were calling us down the coulee, lap after lap of light dust powder on facet crunch. And we had to hike all the way back out. That's as far as the metaphor goes. More fatigued every time, but we didn't mind. Posted by william nesse. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Who writes this blog? View my complete profile. rockwaller Rog: The long conversation between passive microwave repeaters
http://rockwallerrog.blogspot.com/2011/11/long-conversation-between-passive.html
A log of the quotidian. Tuesday, November 29, 2011. The long conversation between passive microwave repeaters. East Repeater: You're looking pale. West Repeater: I always look pale over the city in fog or inversion, or so I'm told. East Repeater: Its been a long Autumn between you and I, and yes, the inversion suits you, but now is something different. Something's changed. Perhaps its just the wind making the scrub oak quiver at your base. East: Yeah, the signature of the wind rides on that carrier wave.

rockwaller Rog: January 2013
http://rockwallerrog.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
A log of the quotidian. Sunday, January 13, 2013. Bell's Canyon is a quiet place, far away from the crowds of Winter. Up to two feet of new snow, mostly at the lower- and mid-elevations, kept the world out. Peering into Coalpit from upper Bell's was another world- -frozen cold, quiet, barely a gust of wind. All the way up 5000 feet. Digging the trench. Posted by william nesse. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Who writes this blog? View my complete profile. Salsa El Mariachi Review. Stay classy, Colorado.

Asheville Janes: The Palmetto Trail
http://ashevillejanes.blogspot.com/2012/04/palmetto-trail.html
Thursday, April 05, 2012. I can't remember how I stumbled on the Palmetto Trail in South Carolina, but I did. Somehow it found me, and things worked out from there. I can't explain it, and won't attempt to, it kind of makes sense to me, and the mysteriousness surrounding it, is good enough. They dropped me off and I made my way through the city, over the bridge and out to my campsite for the night. I stopped by the Trek Concept Store to say hey to Ben Gruber. N: Who are you? Me: I'm Stephen, who are you?

A central place for family to stay up to date on our comings and goings. Wednesday, September 22, 2010. 11 years and Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park. This past weekend marked 11 years of marriage for Tabetha and me. Wow, how far we have come! Tabetha's lovely Ma and Cool Hand Step Pa came to town to watch the girls for us and give a much needed reprieve of the little ones for a couple of days. Tabetha found a beautiful Inn in the quaint little town of Niwot, about 45 minutes away from Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park. And gett...

The Hedrick Clan: July 2009
http://thehedrickclan.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
A central place for family to stay up to date on our comings and goings. Monday, July 13, 2009. My Sweet Sophie at Lube's Bar-B-Q the day before. Ayla playing in one of the few snow patches remaining on Mt Evans. Funny thing while only a few patches remain here at 14,000 ft.there are still plenty of mountains below 12,000 ft that have snow cornices over 10 ft tall. That is until the mountain goats started showing themselves. Looking West towards Guanella Pass. Photo by Jim Jonas.Top of Jones Pass....

Low Altitude Mountain Training. Wednesday, May 02, 2012. Saluda Mountain Passage - Preview. Great news on the trail front for the state of SC. It seems the diligent folks at the Palmetto Conservation Foundation. Have been hard at work extending the Palmetto Trail in the upstate. The Saluda Mountain Passage is a 9.1 mile section starting at Orchard Lake Campground. It looks to be a continuation of the Blue Wall and Poinsett Reservoir Passage. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
