Diagnosis – Large B-Cell Lymphoma. A chapter in life not my whole story xxx. My experiences with Lymphoma – from diagnosis – remission – life after cancer. Diagnosis – Large B-Cell Lymphoma. There are lymph nodes all over the body. As lymph fluid flows through the lymph nodes, the nodes collect and filter out anything harmful or anything the body doesn’t need. This includes bacteria, viruses, damaged cells and cancer cells. Mediastinal large B-Cell lymphoma (MLBCL). A commonly used chemotherapy combinati...

Appointment No 1 for 2015 | Managed by Me

https://managedbyme.wordpress.com/2015/01/09/appointment-no-1-for-2015

Writing and public speaking. Writing and public speaking. January 9, 2015 /. Appointment No 1 for 2015. As a kind of challenge, I’ve decided to keep a note of the amount of time I spend attending health-related appointments and see how it stacks up over a year. Just how much time do I actually spend on managing me? I’m not so sure. The lovely and amazing Kate Granger. Macmillan Cancer Support have a value-based standard. Holding my breath at appointment number four. What this is all about…. Despite not e...

Money | Life with Lymphoma

https://aes1blog.wordpress.com/2015/04/05/money

Living with the effects of lymphoma and its treatment. I didn’t think a huge amount about the impact my treatment would have on my finances until a couple of months into my treatment. I had been living alone in a rental property but had to move back in with my parents whilst I was receiving my treatment. I was lucky enough to be able to continue paying the rent for my flat which has enabled me to recently move back in. This was only possible due to my parents taking on a lot of the daily expenses. Money ...

Hair cut | Life with Lymphoma

https://aes1blog.wordpress.com/2015/04/05/hair-cut

Living with the effects of lymphoma and its treatment. So I’ve had my first haircut! It was lovely to be pampered again and I actually feel relatively girly. I am lucky enough to pull off very short hair reasonably well. I have received endless comments on how lovely it looks (apparently I look like Sinead O’Connor). I can’t thank my hairdresser enough for all of her kindness and support. I was also lucky enough to be given some lovely Aveda products to trial for the salon that I use.

Hair Re-Growth | Life with Lymphoma

https://aes1blog.wordpress.com/2015/02/01/hair-re-growth

Living with the effects of lymphoma and its treatment. I got rather frustrated at how slowly I felt my hair was growing. Inspecting it on a daily basis meant that I didn’t see much change. Those around me did realise how quickly it was growing and often commented. I took to taking photos of my head (weird I know) as it helped me to see the progression. The radiotherapy treatment that followed my chemotherapy didn’t have any effect on my hair as it was my neck and chest that were treated. Blog at WordPres...

February | 2015 | Life with Lymphoma

https://aes1blog.wordpress.com/2015/02

Living with the effects of lymphoma and its treatment. Monthly Archives: February 2015. Having completed my chemotherapy I was sent for a PET scan. My Haematologist was fairly confident that it would be clear following a clear CT scan after my 4. Chemotherapy treatment. I went in to meet an Oncologist to discuss what radiotherapy would entail if I needed it. I was then told that the PET scan showed a few small hotspots and that I would need 15 fractions of radiotherapy. I am due to have my first hair cut...

Diagnosis | Life with Lymphoma

https://aes1blog.wordpress.com/2015/01/03/diagnosis/comment-page-1

Living with the effects of lymphoma and its treatment. My diagnosis was not quick and easy neither was it straightforward. All I would say to others is that you know your body better than anyone else. If you are worried then keep persisting with doctors and consultants. Just a few days after the scan I received a phone call from my GP advising me that there was nothing wrong with my shoulder or arm. He then went on to tell me that they had found a mass in my chest that would need further investigation.

Continuing Recovery | Life with Lymphoma

https://aes1blog.wordpress.com/2015/04/05/continuing-recovery

Living with the effects of lymphoma and its treatment. So I am gradually getting stronger and fitter every day. I found it very frustrating initially that I was unable just to slot back into how I had lived previously. Being back living on my own has gone smoothly and I feel that I am coping quite well. I am back into swimming which I find is improving my fitness. I am also planning on joining the local gym as I am desperate to get back into running. Moving on ». Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Everything's going to be all right | A distraction

Everything's going to be all right. A couple of months ago I discovered a blog called Ramblings of a Bad Fairy. I thought it was wonderful – brave, funny, honest, inspiring, incredibly moving and beautifully written. I have looked forward to reading it ever since, and have never read a post without feeling awed and humbled afterwards. Tonight when I went to check out the latest Bad Fairy doings I found out that she had died. She was 40 years old, with a husband and two young children. In no particular or...

And finally, Easter with Mark’s family at Mike and Tree’s. August 1, 2017. Amanda turned 30 this year and that meant one thing… Girls Trip! I love these girls so much and I feel s...

Thursday, April 23, 2009. I totally forgot about my blogger! So, I haven't posted a blog in months. Actually, I think the last one was right before the wedding.and with Facebook. Being my main source of Internet. Communication, I wonder if this is even worth it? But, I will give it another shot. 6 months from my last post and it is now April and we are finally starting to see signs of Spring! Anyways, when Matt and I bought our house last July, one major thing was missing. A deck! Well, well, well. 12 da...

Keep calm I'm going to be a vet. Ezúttal két trailer videóval jöttem, az egyiket csak úgy, részben ihlet szempontjából, részben meglepetésnek készítettem, míg a másikat rendelésre.
